Sunny and Cool

Low pressure will move toward the Great Lakes from the Northern Plains today moving over Lake Michigan tonight. A cold front will sweep through the area on Friday. The low will linger in the Great Lakes into the weekend. Some rain is expected tonight into Friday ahead of the cold front. As colder air sweeps into the area lake generated rain showers and drizzle will commence Friday lasting into Saturday. The colder air will actually allow a few snow flakes to mix in Friday night into Saturday morning. Some spotty light accumulations on grassy areas cannot be ruled out Saturday morning. Cloudy and Cool

We will have a respite Today and Thursday from all of the rain of the last few days. We need a dry period after a solid 2 to 5 inches of rain fell over much of the area. Rivers and stream will remain elevated the remainder of the week and it will take into the weekend for some rivers to finally reach crest. Weak high pressure will be responsible for our dry weather today and tomorrow. Rain returns to the forecast for Thursday night and Friday as a low pressure system approaches from the west. The rain may persist into Saturday. High temperatures are expected to be below normal right through the weekend with around 50 for highs today and tomorrow, cooling into the 40s for the weekend. Today:  Mostly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of rain showers until midday. Highs in the upper 40s. West winds 5 to 15 mph. Tonight:  Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. Northwest winds around 10 mph. Thursday:  Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. Light winds. Thursday Night:  Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows around 40. Southeast winds 5 to 15 mph.
