By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (May 8, 2023 11:31 AM ET) Area high school football players who believe they have a chance to play football at the next level will have a chance to show their skills. And they don’t have to drive to Detroit or Grand Rapids to prove it. The Michigan High School Athletic Association, in partnership with the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association, will be hosting first-ever Spring Evaluation Camps to provide athletes with aspirations of playing college football opportunities to show their skills and abilities to college coaches at one of five locations. The one-day camps will take place between May 16-19 at Jenison High School, DeWitt High School, Jackson High School, Brighton High School and Detroit Country Day High School. Jackson High School will host its camp on Tuesday, May 16, with registration beginning at 12:30 and the evaluation camp from 1 to 3 p.m. The camp will take place at Dungy Field behind Jackson High School. The MHSAA’s involvement will allow for the opportunity for Division I college coaches to attend, and representatives from college football programs at all levels are expected.
