Comets Look to Continue Winning Ways in Football

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (July 30, 2021 11:52 AM) Third-year Hanover-Horton High School football Coach Perry Deliyanne says one of his staffers has a nickname for just about every player on the team. With names such as Little Willy, Evel Knievel, and Sausage, sometimes the longtime football coach doesn’t know who his assistant coach is talking about. But nearly everyone at the district opening game between Lumen Christi and the Comets last year called Hanover-Horton and up-and-coming, hard-hitting program. The Comets hope to continue that success this season. Hanover-Horton finished 4-3 overall a year ago, 4-2 in the Cascades Conference – good for second place. The Comets have never won a Cascades football title.
