National Civics Bee.  6 PM.  Live Event! The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a first-of-its-kind civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists will be invited to Washington, DC to compete in the inaugural National Civics Bee national championship in Fall 2024.Registration starts at 5:30 and program begins at 6pm. Friday, April 5 Jackson Area Young Adults Worship Night.  8 PM.  We'll be hosting a worship night at The Arbor Church on Friday April 5th at 8pm. The doors will open at 7:30 for community time, games, and coffee. Our goal of this event is to help young adults from all over Jackson to connect with each other and as well to get connected into a local small group so they can continue to grow in their relationship with Christ.  Everyone is invited, bring a friend!  The Arbor Church, M-60, Spring Arbor. CPCAN Annual Pinwheel Garden.  12 PM to 1 PM  April is Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month! Join us on April 4th for our annual pinwheel garden event to kick off CAP month!  We will gather in the park to hear about the importance of child abuse prevention and our mission.  Afterwards we would love for you to join us for some refreshments inside our Child & Parent Center.  Austin Blair Park, 606 Greenwood Place, Jackson. Solar Eclipse Preview Viewing Night.  6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  A solar eclipse is coming on April 8th. Learn more about the eclipse at this informational "preview" event to be held in Jackson College's James McDivitt Hall, Room 216. Guests will also learn about the new Astronomical Observatory. Weather permitting, afterward, guests will go to the Observatory for a viewing night. This event is free and light refreshments will be provided.
