Toys for Tots Drive.  The K-105.3 Morning Show and NewsTalk’s “AM Jackson” will both be broadcasting live during this great toy drive & fundraiser for Toys for Tots. The Albion Aglow Parade is tonight and begins with Downtown business open house, 5 to 9 p.m.   Albion Aglow Parade begins at 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Cass and Superior streets and proceeds south on Superior Street to Erie Street.  After the parade, Santa will visit with children until 9 p.m. at Kids ’N’ Stuff Museum, 301 S. Superior St.  Throughout the evening, everyone is encouraged to visit downtown businesses that will remain open for extended hours. Performers will entertain shoppers and refreshments will be available during the Downtown Open House.  The Albion Farmers Market plans a special winter artisan event at The Food Hub, 112 E. Erie St. The Food Hub is the home to the Farmers Market on Saturdays from November through April.

Lumen Christi Drama Department presents the comedy theatre production “Peril on the High Seas…Or Let’s Get Together and Do Launch””, written by Billy St. John. Set during the Roaring 20’s, the show follows the voyage of The H.M.S Majestic, and the dastardly plot of a notorious criminal, to kidnap an innocent young heiress. Madness ensues as a raucous cast of characters (1920’s flappers, a washed up film star, and clueless detective just being some) descend upon the ship, with laughter and ridiculousness. Jackson Coffee Company presents free entertainment with “View”.  Aric, BJ, and Mike – acoustic, family friendly, and free! Lots of originals, including something new…and continuing our string of covering musicians who’ve passed in 2017 – a set of Tom Petty specials.  7 PM to 10 PM.

The Michigan Theatre presents Home Alone.  FREE family movie night.  Doors open at 6:30pm, movie begins at 7 PM.

Friends of Grass Lake Township Holiday Party. The Friends of Grass Lake Township will be hosting their first annual Holiday Party ’17  from 6pm – 10pm.The festivities will be held at the Eyry of the Eagle Reception Center/Dale Fisher Galleries at 1916 Norvell Rd., Grass Lake. Admission is $20 per person (advance) or $25 at the door along with a non-perishable food Item.  It’s ok to BYOB.  Pro DJ Services will be entertaining guests from 6-8pm, followed by the music by the Harper and Midwest Kind Band.  Proceeds benefit Friends of Grass Lake Township and the food collected will be donated to the Grass Lake United Methodist Church’s food pantry.  Holiday Party ‘2017 is open to the public. Tompkins Center Historical Society’s December Dinner at the Tompkins Center’s Township Town Hall at 9999 Tompkins Rd., Rives Junction, about half a mile north of Tompkins Center off of M-50.  Between Jackson and  Eaton Rapids. On the menu for this month is Swiss Steak, salad bar and delicious desserts. Serving time is   from 5 to 6:30 pm. in Tompkins Center’s Township Town Hall.  Enjoy a Winter drive in Northwest Jackson County and join us on December 1st, between 5 and 6:30 pm.  Take out orders call (517-569-2463) night of the dinner.  Dinner gift certificates available also. The Music of Simon and Garfunkel.  A.J. Swearingen and Jayne Kelli deliver an outstanding homage to Simon and Garfunkel in singing and harmonizing, intricate finger-picking guitar, and interesting historical footnotes between songs. They interact intimately with the audience to enhance the every songs’ tenderness.  The Michigan Theatre of Jackson is so very happy to have this polished, professional duo back in the Jackson area.  Doors open at 7:00 pm. Grass Lake Festival of Lights.  The first weekend in December we hold our annual Festival of Lights. We have breakfast with Santa; we have carriage rides to the Coe House Museum. The Coe House is open and decked out for the season. The United Methodist Church has their annual craft and bake sale, Santa makes a visit to the Depot. Later in the evening we have Festival of Lights parade and lighting of the Christmas tree downtown. The Parade is at 4 PM, the lighting of the tree on the grounds of Whistlestop Park at 5:00 p.m. Details and schedule here.

Hand-crafted  greens, home-made baked goods, and gift items will be available for  purchase. Free refreshments and live music will be among the offerings for this homespun weekend.  Please join us!!
 Admission to the Waterloo Farm Museum grounds for this event is $5 for adults and $2 for children aged 5-12. There is no admission charge for children under 5 and members of the Waterloo Area Historical Society.
