Jackson College Sportsmen Banquet.  2018 Sportsman’s Banquet.  Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse, Jackson College Central Campus.  Doors open at 5 p.m. • Dinner 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $45.  Outdoor enthusiasts and fans of Jackson College athletics are invited to this special evening. There will be a dinner with live auction for a variety of prizes, including:  Walleye Fishing Trip on Lake Erie includes five people donated by Reel Steel Charter, Five-day bear hunt to Blue Demon Lodge in Ontario, Canada, Perch Fishing Trip on Lake Erie for six, donated by Reel Steel Charter, Wildlife portraits, sport memorabilia and much more!  Silver Bullet Raffle.  In addition, there will be a Bucket Raffle for guns, hunting equipment, sporting goods and tree stands.   Visit www.jccmi.edu/events/sportsmans-banquet-2/ to register.

Jackson Symphony Orchestra Concert.  Treat your valentine to an evening of American music culminating in George Gershwin’s An American in Paris.  Instead of the 3 B’s-Bach, Bethoven and Brahms, we have the 3 G’s-Gershwin, Glass, Gould.  As familiar as Gershwin’s music is, you will be surprised by two works that are equally entertaining and, at times, treat the orchestra like a jazz band.  The Transcontinental Saxophone Quartet joins the JSO for this celebration of American music.   7:30 PM, Potter Center Music Hall, Jackson College Central Campus.  Tickets:  jacksonsymphony.org.

Western High School presents “Oklahoma”.  Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 3 PM and 7 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.  Western Community Arts Center, Western High School.  Tickets:  Adults $14, Seniors and students $10.  Purchase online for a $2 discount:  showtix4u.com.

Art&Soul Dreams Gallery Walk and Tour.  Ella Sharp cared deeply for the children of Jackson. Young visitors to her farm (now Ella Sharp Park) fondly recalled buggy rides and games along with plenty of sugar cookies! Ella Sharp also provided financial support for many youth to continue their education.  Melissa Parks, founder of Art&Soul Dreams, has a similar passion for the welfare of young people. Join us on February 10 at 1 pm as Parks describes how her organization works to find permanent homes for children in the foster care system.  Art&Soul Dreams runs until Tuesday, February 27.

St. Mary Star of the Sea Valentine’s Breakfast.  St.Mary Star of the Sea Knights of Columbus Breakfast is Celebrating Significant Anniversaries!  Sunday, February 11 9 am to Noon.  Adults, $7 • Children 6-13, $4 Children 5 & under eat free!  120 E. Wesley Street, Jackson.

Art 634 Second Sunday presents  the 7th Annual Valentine Project.  Share the love and your creativity in helping us make personalized Valentines for The John George Home and Jackson Friendly Home. This is a very rewarding and free community event.  This event coordinates with ART 634’s 2nd Sunday. Meet 3 local local artists who create artwork using paper, Margaret Riggle, Mary Sprague and Amy Wellington. Get a Valentine treat, participate in several Make-N-Take Projects, visit with vendors and more! (Nominal fee with Make-N-Take Projects).  Art 634, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.  1 PM to 4  PM.
