16th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast.  Meet and greet over 450 community, business leaders and students who participated in Challenge Day while honoring our youth as we remember and celebrate the birthday of a great icon, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Join the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, The Jackson County Intermediate School District, the City of Jackson Human Relations Commission, Business Leaders and students from Challenge Day 2017 as we honor and remember Dr. Martin Luther King while hearing an inspiring, motivational and encouraging speech from the Honorable Susan Jordan, Circuit Court Judge.  For more information Click Here.  Gene Davis Banquet Center, Francis Street, Jackson.

Jackson College Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.  Jackson College invites the community to the 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, featuring keynote speaker Lawson Pilgrim, “Mr. Smiley.”  Lawson Pilgrim is a motivational speaker who firmly believes that greatness dwells in everyone! He will share an inspirational address with audience members on “Making Your Dreams Come True!”   The evening will also feature recognition of the 2018 King Medal of Service Award winner, Alan Wade of Jackson, owner and publisher of the Jackson Blazer.  The 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Robert Snyder Dining Commons, Potter Center. Tickets are $25 for adults/general admission, and $20 for senior citizens and students. Tickets available from the Potter Center Box Office at 517.796.8600.

Red Wine Release Party, Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  Join us to celebrate all things red wine!  The 2014 Estate Marquette, 2015 Marquette, 2013 Bourbon Barrel Noiret and Mystic will be released.  The cafe will feature special cheese and chocolate fondue to pair with the released wines.  Rochelle Clark & Jason Dennie will be here for live entertainment.  2 PM to 5 PM, Free admission.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Road, Jackson.

College Scholarships 101.  Presented by Brian Green from the College and Career Access Center.  Spring Arbor Branch, Jackson District Library.  11 AM to 12 N.  learn about the scholarship process and get some tips to help your scholarship hunt. Intended for teens and adults.

The Purr-fect Art Show.  A collaboration of art by cat enthusiasts. Experience unique perspectives of love for our furry feline friends through acrylic, watercolor, ink, mixed-media and photography.  ARTISTS: Eddie Burkhead, Melanie Hilliard, Michael Maloney, Chad Niekowal, Ava Tolonen, and Rachel Veramay  MUSICIAN: Trevor Tarantowski.  ARTISTS’ RECEPTION:  Essa Arts – 1931 Horton Rd, Suite 2 – Jackson.Saturday,  5-8pm.

Miss Jackson Crossroads Scholarship Pageant.  Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center, Jackson College.  Contestants compete for educational scholarships in a licensed affiliate of the Miss America Organization.  2 PM.  $20 Admission.

K105.3 Bridal Fair.  Brides-to-be, get ready to plan the big day! Enter for a chance to win great prizes like a $500 travel voucher to Aloha Travel and more!  From photographers to limos, catering to reception halls… we have it all in over 50 vendors.  $5 at the door (no advance ticket sales).  Enjoy a fashion show at 2:30pm presented by Something Blue Bridal, Britches-n-Bows, Salon Rushelle, House of DeVaughn Bridal, Creative Edge Salon, Paparazzi Accessories by Sarah, and Beck’s Flower Shop.  Middle School at Parkside, 1PM to 4PM.
