Grass Lake Community Schools will present “FOOTLOOSE the Musical”, May 4, 5 and 6 in the Grass Lake Performing Arts Center, located in the high school, 11500 Warrior Trail, Grass Lake MI. All tickets are $5 each. Show times are 7 pm May 4 & 5, and 2 pm May 6. Seats are assigned and reservations are recommended by calling (517) 867-5695.  Directed by Barb Palmer with musical direction by Darin Good, the production will feature students in grades 5-12 with a live, onstage band. Lead roles will be played by Gabe Sweet as REN MCCORMACK, Luke Gorsuch as REV. SHAW MOORE, Naomi Jobson as ARIEL MOORE, Rebecca Rigg as VI MOORE, Izzy Frey as RUSTY, Jeremiah Rigg as WILLLARD HEWITT, Ruby Bernhard as ETHEL MCCORMACK, Shaun Burk as CHUCK CRANSTON and many other talented kids!

The Jackson Coffee Company presents Jen Sygit.  Jen now has three albums under her belt with her latest” So Long Pollyanna.”  Her release “Leaving Marshall St.” was nominated for a Detroit Music Award for BEST ACOUSTIC/FOLK ALBUM.  Free admission.  7 PM to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, Downtown Jackson. 

Church Women United World Friendship Day.  Church Women United World Friendship Day will be celebrated with a luncheon at 12:30PM. Hosted by St. Mary’s , 120 E. Wesley St. Jackson, MI. Cost of the luncheon is a $5.00 donation and attendees are asked to bring new socks (men, women, boys, girls and/or baby) which will be donated to residents of Jackson County that need them.  RSVP by calling Gurtie Crater at (517) 250-4134.

Banjo Mike at the Poison Frog Brewery.  This dude is entertainment with a banjo not a joke! Come check him out! We have beer, we have food, and we have BANJO MIKE in the house!!!  8PM to 11 PM. 1908 Horton Road, Jackson.

Art Walk Tecumseh.  Join us for displays of artwork, food, drink, entertainment and more in Downtown Tecumseh.  6 PM to 9 PM.

The Lost Railway Museum will host a fundraiser on Friday May 4, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm located at 142 W. Michigan Ave. Grass Lake, MI. The cost to attend is $75 per person.  Heavy Appetizers provided by the Roaming Goat of Grass Lake. Beverages will be provided. Must be 21 to attend.  This fundraiser will showcase the progress being made on the restoration of Car #47 and Car #29 along with the other additions to the museum.

Spring Arbor Fire Department Pancake Day.  6 AM to 1 PM at the Spring Arbor Township public safety building, 107 E Main Street, Spring Arbor.  This is the annual fundraiser for the Spring Arbor Fire Department. For more information Click Here.

The Pope Church Fall Sale today from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Pope United Methodist Church, 10025 N. Parma Road, Springport.  Lunch, Baked Goods, Rummage, Bazaar and Miscellaneous.

The Family Service and Children’s Aid Run for Fun is a great event for everyone, whether you’re highly competitive or if you’re coming out for your first 5K ever.  FSCA’s own Shelly Milligan will run all the kids through a music filled warmup before the 8:30 a.m. start. It’s always fun watching the kids before the race, but it’s even better seeing them come across the finish line.  Cascades Falls Park, 1401 S Brown Street, Jackson.

The Jackson Area Career Center Agriscience program is hosting a massive plant sale!  Annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs – including hundreds of hanging plants – will all be available at exceptionally competitive prices.  Not only are the plants grown by Jackson Area Career Center Ag. students, but all proceeds supports the program’s FFA costs, including memberships, field trips, and more.  Jackson Area Career Center.  6800 Browns Lake Rd, Jackson.  8 AM to 12 Noon.

Jackson County Animal Shelter presents “Empty the Shelter Day”, with all pet adoptions paid by Bissell Pet Foundation.  Adoptions only to approved homes. 10 AM to 1 PM, Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3370 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson.  You can get pre-approved by filling out an application in advance of the event.  You may apply during the event,  but application reviews may take longer.

Plant Sale Fundraiser at Arnold Elementary School.  100% of the profits go to the fundraiser to benefit the Stephanie Tallis Greenhouse Fund, to help with supplies, keep the greenhouse running & funds for the school.  Arnold Elementary school, 4064 Page Ave, Michigan Center.  Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM.  Annuals, perennials, vegetables, hanging baskets, house plants, air plants & farm fresh eggs.  Free plants for kids and raffle drawings too!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Michigan Theatre.  Gabriel Burciaga is the accordion player, arranger, and band leader for Gabriel Burciaga & the Bad Boyz of Adrian, MI. The band consists of accordion, bass, guitar, keyboards, drums, & saxophone.  The evening includes fun, games, and prizes for the entire family.  Gabriel Burciaga & the Bad Boyz enjoy entertaining and performing rancheras, cumbias, polkas, merengues, and salsa.  The band can be found on facebook: Gabriel burciaga & The Bad Boyz.  7 PM.  $10 for adults & $4 children (12 & under).

The Michigan Theatre and Nostalgia Ink presents “Spend the Afternoon” listening to great local bands at the historic Michigan Theatre.  Nostalgia Ink presents Garrett Collier, Unknown Crowe, Swamp Jug, #ORSON, and The Dead Flames.  Admission is FREE!

YMCA Storer Camps Preview Day.  Join us at YMCA Storer Camps, May 6th from 1-4 pm for a FREE Preview day of our summer camp! “Then Sings My Soul” Concert, celebrating the 40 year Music Ministry of Timothy Meunier, Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church.  Concert will be presented at 3 PM by Chancel Choir & Fellowship Choir with Orchestra, Organ and Piano.  A reception in Fellowship Hall will follow concert.  Free admission.  First United Methodist Church, 1275 West Michigan Avenue, Jackson.
