Jackson College Winter Film Series.  Explore filmmaking and enjoy movies from classic to contemporary with Jackson College’s 42nd Annual Winter Film Series.  The Winter Film Series is held annually at the Michigan Theatre in downtown Jackson as part of the College’s English 210 Films as Literature class. Community members are welcome. Films begin at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays; cost $5 per person.  Tonight:   “Get Out”. (2017, Rated R)  Synopsis:  It’s time for a young African-American to meet with his white girlfriend’s parents for a weekend in their secluded estate in the woods, but before long, the friendly and polite ambience will give way to a nightmare.

Yoga at Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Stop by the Meijer Branch every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and let Jeanette Lamphere teach you yoga. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults.

Ukukele Jam Session, Eastern Branch, Jackson District Library.  Grab your ukulele and come jam with us today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. If you are a new player, we will have an extra ukulele on hand. Information on how to play will be available, but these are not lessons. Intended for adults.

Traveling Ann Arbor Film Festival. The Ann Arbor Film Festival Traveling Show (AAFF) is a pioneer of the traveling film festival tour which launched in 1964 with film screenings in Paris, Los Angeles, and Berkeley.  A speaker will also be present during this program to discuss the Ann Arbor Film Festival, as well as the films that are being shown.    Monday, January 22, 2017, at 6 p.m.  DIGITAL PROGRAM TWO:  Six new experimental, animated, documentary, and narrative videos including “Étude 1a: Release”, “Absence of Memory”, “The Talk”, “America for Americans”, and “Xylophone”  Intended for ages 13+.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.
