Enchanted Evening, Library Week Reception.  Celebrate art and libraries with Jackson District Library! In honor of National Library Week,  JDL is hosting a “Stronger Communities” art contest.  Artists of all ages and skill levels have submitted their entries .  All work will be on display at the Carnegie Branch during Enchanted Evening, Friday, April 12 from 4-9pm, a celebration of both the Jackson Community’s artwork and JDL’s collection of works as well.   Hors d’oeuvres by Grady’s Catering and wine from Sandhill Crane Winery will add to the evening’s enchantment!

Jackson Symphony Orchestra Community Music School presents Bach’s Lunch Series.  This event promotes classical music through free noontime concerts open to the public, featuring Community Music School students, faculty and guest artists.  Concerts also include demonstrations and commentary given by professional musicians.  Come for all or part of the time.  All proceeds and donations support CMS programs and community outreach.   Cottage Inn pizza slices and beverages will be available for purchase or bring your own lunch and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and cookies.  Sponsored by Lammers Heating and Air Conditioning.  12 Noon, Weatherwax Hall, Downtown Jackson.

The Underwater Bubble Show.  Be transported to a colorful, happy place called Bubblelandia, a place to dream, to listen, to watch, to savor, and to marvel. From Latvia comes this delightful Modern Circus production which includes acrobatics, juggling, contortion, laser technology and most of all millions of bubbles!  Tickets: $30 | $25 | $15.  Special ticket pricing: $10 tickets available for students & children 12 yrs. and under. Must be purchased with minimum of one adult/full price ticket. 7 PM, Potter Center Music Hall, Jackson College Central Campus.

The Jackson Autism Support Network Presents “Oliver”.   Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Show starts at 7:30 P.M.  Free Admission. Donations accepted at the door.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Jackson YMCA Talent Show.  6 PM, Jackson YMCA, 127 West Wesley Street, Downtown Jackson.  Singers, Dancers, Rappers, and more!

“View” CD Release Party.  View will be making their first appearance at the 127 Brewery from 7-10pm.  Their newest CD, Drought, is available! View is a folk/rock band that plays both original songs and covers.  Tiki Sam’s pizza will be at the brewery from 5pm-? Serving up his delicious pies.  Come on out and join us for a night of pizza, rock, and of course delicious beer.  3090 Shirley Drive, Jackson.

Jackson School of the Arts presents the 12th Annual Fairy Festival.  The Annual Fairy Festival.  Saturday, April 13 from 11-4 pm & Sunday, April 14, 12-4 pm.  We welcome you to a very special weekend filled with activities, crafts, and vendors inspired by child-like imagination.  Boys and girls always find the Festival full of wonderment and their grown-up companions can’t help but rediscover the child inside themselves as well!  The two-day weekend event is free and includes arts & crafts, vendors, Ye Ole Fairy Shoppe, the Cupcake Cafe, a Fairy Garden Contest, Tea with Miss Jackson Crossroads, carriage rides, dancing fairies and performances by the Fairy Festival Players.    Walk through the Fairy Kingdom, Mermaid Cove and explore the dark mountain.  Meet a Fairy Princess and travel to Neverland with Captain Hook on his ship. Plan to stay all day and have lunch in Fairy Landing. 12th Annual Women In Leadership Conference.  8:30 AM to 4 PM.  The annual Women in Leadership Conference is designed to help women fulfill their potential as leaders. Women of all ages and backgrounds are provided with relevant tools for professional development and personal refreshment. The event features compelling speakers, educational workshops and opportunities to network.  This year’s theme is Embracing Eloquence!  Price includes continental breakfast, break refreshments, lunch, two keynote presentations, six workshops (pick three), specialty coffee with an opportunity to network/chat with some of the speakers, and gift bag.  Keynote speaker is Babbie Mason.  Registration and details here.

Napoleon Spring Craft Show.  Napoleon Middle School AIMS Parents’ Group will be hosting a spring craft show at the Napoleon Middle School on April 13, 2019, from 9am-3pm.  The admission fee will be $1.00 per person, kids under 12 free. All proceeds from the craft show will be used in support of extracurricular middle school activities including: 8th grade class trip, 7th grade class trip, student activity nights, technology for hands-on learning, and library upgrades.
