Valentine’s with the JSO.  Valentine’s with the JSO promises an enchanting evening, featuring Romantic favorites of Music Director Matthew Aubin. This program, featuring cellist Julian Schwarz, takes you on a journey through time. Schwarz’s interpretation of Variations on a Rococo Theme and Andante cantabile captures the classical grace of Tchaikovsky. Inspired by Mozart, the concert concludes with Franz Schubert’s Fifth Symphony, rounding out an evening where the past meets the present in a symphony of love. Three opportunities with the concert performance on Friday or Saturday at 7:30pm and on Sunday at 2:00pm, and will be held in downtown Jackson at the JSO Weatherwax Hall. Oscar Nominated Shorts:  20th Anniversary.   6:00 PM (Feb 14th) & 7:00 PM (Feb 15th).  Admission: $7 per ticket (Ticket valid for both days). Run time is just under 6 hours, categories will be in reverse order for the February 15th screening to ensure ticketholders can plan to see all of the categories. Center Stage Jackson presents Escanaba in da Moonlight.  In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.  Friday and Saturday at 7 PM, Sunday at 3 PM.  Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center, Jackson College.  Event page and tickets here.

Murder Masquerade. 6:15 PM to 11 PM.  An Original, Immersive, Murder-Mystery, Comedy, Dinner Theatre Show. Written and performed by Monster Box Theatre’s ‘Killed by Murder’ performance team.  This amazing evening begins with an hour of cocktails, relaxed socializing, and informal games, followed by a fully-catered dinner and dessert. You will be entertained by live music and dance, fortune telling, a photo booth, and various Valentine’s activities, games, and demonstrations. Get Ready:  The Motown Tribute.  7pm. The Motown Era brought soul, style and sophistication to a new level in American music.  You might think that kind of performance is a thing of the past, but you’d be wrong!  It’s all coming back with GET READY! A Motown Experience. This cutting-edge musical tour pays homage to the Motown legends you love, but with a twist.  Four spectacular singers bring energy and wit into a show that overs all the Motown bases, and throws in a few surprises along the way.  A great LIVE band backs up the singers to put the show over the top.  GET READY! Michigan Singer Songwriter Showcase.  Doors open at 1:30 PM, performances begin at 2:00 PM. Admission: FREE.  Join us for an afternoon celebrating the talented singer-songwriters of Jackson! This month’s lineup features Vic McDermott, Aaron Zraik, Brian Tucker, and the incredible Vid Weatherwax.
