Art Journaling at the Spring Arbor Branch.  Learn how to relax by expressing yourself through different media of art journaling. A stress relieving activity for adults. No special art skills needed. Live Music, Jackson Coffee Company.  The Jackson Coffee Co. promotes local and regional music by providing live entertainment every Friday on our second floor. Musician perform a variety of coffee house style music Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m. There is never a cover charge, as all music is FREE to attend.

Friday Night Skate and Laser Tag.  Friday Night  All Music is Censored before 9pm.  10yrs old & older ONLY after 9pm.  4:00-7:00pm, admission $5.  6:00-9:00pm , admission $8, 8:00-11:00pm admission $10.  $4 for any type of skate rental.6-11pm admission $15 (10 years old and older only after 9pm).  Non profit Groups (10 or more) call ahead at 517-787-8716 for group pricing.  Check out our Snack Bar!  Allskate Fun Center, 1313 West North Street.

Community Music School Open House.   Weatherwax Hall, 9:00 am-Noon.  The Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s Community Music School invites the you to join us and our teachers on Saturday, January 12th at 9:00 am for our open house. You will be able to meet our teachers and observe a few of our classes. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know us. Your Generation in Concert.  Your Generation in Concert™ is a live multimedia spectacular celebrating 5 decades of pop, rock, dance and R&B hits. Simply put, this 8-piece band is the world’s finest tribute show.  YGIC transports the audience on a musical tour through the soundtrack of their lives with outstanding musicianship and remarkable vocals. YGIC is an international favorite for corporations, festivals, concerts, private events, and the celebrity set. The group has shared stages with Lenny Kravitz, Flo Rida, Jason Derulo, The Billy Joel Band, Sheryl Crow, Huey Lewis, and more.  Presale: $9 (before processing charges).  Day of Show: $14  General Admission Seating.  Doors open at 7 PM, show begins at 8 PM.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Boy Scout Christmas Tree Pickup.  9 AM to 5 PM.  Queens Troop 424 will be picking up Christmas trees and accepting donations.  In the city of Jackson, south of Michigan Avenue.  To request a tree pickup, call 789-8507.

YMCA Teen Extreme After Hours Party.  7 PM to 10 PM.  The Jackson YMCA Future Leaders, along with several community partners, are bringing Extreme Teen Parties to the Y. 6th-8th graders will have the Y to themselves in this after-hours bash! There will be prizes, goody bags, and tons of fun for everyone!
  Some great activities at the Party Nights; Jackson District Library will be there with a Virtual Reality System, Pro DJ’s will be providing a DJ for music, Baker College will have their 3D printing demos, Consumer Energy will be sponsoring Build Your Own Marshmallow Shooters and when the teens complete an activity, they will be entered in a drawing for prizes at the end of the night like gift cards, Michigan Basketball Tickets, and portable power chargers! This is just a beginning to the fun as all YMCA facilities will be open like the rock wall, gyms, and swimming pools.  Best Selfie from the Party this Saturday, Jan 12th, using the hashtag #YTeenExtreme will win a $25 Visa Gift Card so be sure to tell your teen to take lots of pictures and share on Instagram and/or Facebook!!  Call for reservation, 782-0537.

Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction.  A benefit for Gary Camburn and family.  5 PM to 8 PM, Northwest Early Elementary, 3735 Lansing Avenue.  $5 per person.

Knights of Columbus Breakfast.  St Marys Star of the Sea: Welcomes you and your family to our 2018-2019 season tradition Knights of Columbus Breakfasts. Join us in fellowship with your family.  Time: 9:00 till 11:30, 120 E. Wesley, Jackson Michigan.  Adults: $7.00,  Children 6-13: $ 4.00, Children 5 and Under eat free.

K105.3 Bridal Fair.  Before you walk down the aisle… walk up and down the aisles of the K-105.3 Bridal Fair and meet with all the vendors you need to plan the big day!  $5 Admission.  Grand Bridal Fashion show (included with admission) at 2:30pm including all the latest bridal gown fashions, tuxes, bouquets and hair/makeup styles.  Prizes, demonstrations, giveaways and more.  Middle School at Parkside.  1 PM to 4 PM.
