American 1 Kids Fest.  10 AM to 3 PM.  Kids’ Fest is a free event designed to help children learn about many topics while having a ton of fun! We bring in local businesses and organizations that educate children on topics such as health, nutrition, art, safety, community and so much more! Each booth offers a hands-on activity, game or craft for children to help them learn. Thousands of kids and families visit Kids’ Fest each summer!  NEW LOCATION THIS  YEAR:  Optimist Ice Arena, 1300 West North Street, Jackson.

18th Annual Jackson Blues Fest.  June 13-15, 2019 at the Jackson County Airport.  June 13th   6 to 11 p.m. June 14th   6 to 12 a.m. June 15th   3 to 12 a.m.  For just $10 a day you will see great Blues performers from all over the United States. Just bring your lawn chair and sunscreen and absorb all the Blues you can. It’s going to be epic. On Friday, June 14th, the first 100 kids age 2 – 12 will receive a free harmonica, t-shirt, sunglasses and an opportunity to jam with a live band. Live Music at Jackson Coffee Company.  AWA Will Rogers Award Winner as Best Male Vocalist, Bob Marshall, entertains tonight.  7 PM to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, 201 S. Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.

Grand River Farmer’s Market.  Downtown Jackson, along the Grand River, corner of Glick and Mechanic.  8 AM to 2 PM.

Arts in the Park Series.  7 PM.  Located in Swain Memorial Park, Brooklyn.  All concerts are free and family friendly!  Tonight:  The Liver Spots.  Presented by Irish Hills Community Legacy and community sponsors, including Brooklyn Exponent,  JTV, Village of Brooklyn, West Bay Exploration, Absopure, Big Boy and ITC.

The ABC Sisters.  Come to the Department on Aging on Friday, June 14th to the ABC Sisters who are an Andrew Sisters Tribute Act.  They bring the old favorite scat classics home with perfect three-part harmony, 40’s dancing style, and sisterly fun – making audiences laugh, cry, clap and sing along. 1715 Lansing Ave, Jackson,  1-2pm.

Juneteenth Celebration.  CP Federal City Square, Horace Blackman Park.  2 PM to 9:30 PM.  The Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair is a free community event. The afternoon will start with a helpful community resource fair, including health and educational exhibits and job fair. A Kids Zone throughout the day will feature carnival games, a robotics exhibition, horse rides, petting zoo, face painting, basketball, putt-putt golf and more.   The evening concert features Phase 5, a fan favorite from Detroit that recreates Motown’s greatest hits and renowned, chart-topping guitarist Tim Bowman.   Also performing will be Jackson’s R&B, soul and rock band Airtight, and DJ Matt Wade. Come and join this fun, free event Saturday, June 15 at CP Federal City Square.

Rock the Dahlem.  With the arrival of Summer, Jackson County Rocks is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Rock The Dahlem Festival which will take place on Saturday, June 15th from 12-3pm at Dahlem.  Bring the family & enjoy a fun day of rock painting & hunting, face painting, music, food, prizes & raffles…..and some surprises thrown in for good measure. Event is FREE and raffle tickets will be for sale for awesome prizes! (Ticket sales to benefit the Dahlem Center).

French Market.  The Albion Sister City Committee and The Albion Farmer’s Market present the annual French Market.  9 AM to 2 PM, Stoffer Market Plaza, Albion.  Produce and plants, handmade items, much and more.  1 block east of Downtown along the river.

Grand River Farmer’s Market.  Downtown Jackson, along the Grand River, corner of Glick and Mechanic.  8 AM to 2 PM.  We accept cash, credit, checks, double up food bucks, wic project fresh, senior project fresh, and bridge cards!

Cascades Rotary Bandshell Summer Concert Series.  Tonight, Roots Vibrations.  Authentic Caribbean music that will be sure to stimulate your senses with positive roots music.  7 PM.  Free Concert.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Donnie Baker & the Pork Pistols.  8 PM, Michigan Theatre.  Comedian DONNIE BAKER has been a regular guest on the Bob & Tom Show for years, and his YouTube rants have racked up an impressive 35 million views to date. When he’s not training at karate or yelling at his boss Randy, Donnie performs with his comedy rock group the Pork Pistols.  JOSH ARNOLD – is a radio personality who appears on The Bob & Tom Show and brings a unique perspective on the world’s activities, and even himself. Arnold was named the best male comedian in the St. Louis area in 2011.  WHEN: SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2019: MICHIGAN THEATRE OF JACKSON  TIME: 8PM SHOW – DOORS OPEN AT 6:30PM.  Tickets are available on the Michigan Theatre website-www.michigantheatre.org.  

Center Stage Jackson presents “Peter Pan”.   Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday Matinee at 3:00pm.  Final weekend. Jackson College’s Potter Center, Baughman Theatre, 2111 Emmons Rd. Jackson.  Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.  Purchase tickets here.

Pirate Booty Dash 5K Run/Walk.  This is a professionally timed event. Hosted by the Napoleon Athletic Boosters, one of our largest fundraisers for Napoleon school athletes. Kids Fun Run is at 8:30, 5K is at 9:00 https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Napoleon/PirateBootyDash.  Start and finish line is in front of Ezra Eby Elementary (straight shot).  Packet Pick-Up: Friday 6/14 from 2:30- 6:00pm at Napoleon High School, 201 West Street, Napoleon.

Jackson College Summer Concert Series.  Tonight:  Trombonefest.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket for Trombonefest, on the back patio of Jackson College Potter Center.  A cookout will be offering burgers and hot dogs, salads and sides for purchase.  Concert is free.  6 PM.
