Public Art Unveiling.  The City of Jackson and the Jackson Public Arts Commission invite you to the unveiling on a new work of public art, “Pericles” by Mark Muhich.  11:00 AM.  Kibby Road Roundabout.  Join dignitaries and meet the artist.

Christoff & Sons Floor Covering Ground Breaking.  You are invited to the Ground Breaking ceremony Friday June 21st at 3:00pm, 400 N. Mechanic St. (the old Toy House).  When: Friday, June 21st, 2019 @ 3pm.

Live Music at Jackson Coffee Company.  7 PM to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, 201 S. Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.

Grand River Farmer’s Market.  Downtown Jackson, along the Grand River, corner of Glick and Mechanic.  8 AM to 2 PM.  We accept cash, credit, checks, double up food bucks, wic project fresh, senior project fresh, and bridge cards!  Free Yoga Fridays! at 9:00 am!  Do some yoga and pick up some fresh produce in one stop!  Make sure to bring your water and a yoga mat.  If there is lightning or rain, the event will be at the downtown branch as normal. Weather related updates will be posted on the Jackson YMCA.  See you at the market!

Summer Solstice Celebration.  Enjoy extended hours. Summer Solstice Celebration will occur from 11AM-11PM.  It’s all about the longest day of the year…and it’s filled with fun!  Enjoy live music from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with Man & Moon and 8:30 to 10:30 with Bob Stevens. The day includes a wine release and specials in the cafe.  As a celebration of summer, we’ll be offering our first wine slushies. Make sure to try them both: Peach Slushie made with our crisp and refreshing Solstice, and Watermelon Slushie made with Blushing Crane.  Open to the public – admission is free. Come hang out with us all day and celebrate the longest day of our year and the official beginning of summer!

Bright Walls Night Tour.  Bright Walls is LIT – literally! Join us on the first official night of summer for an official guided tour of the illuminated murals!  8:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Check-in at the Grand River Brewery. Belly-up to the bar for some official Bright Walls – Night Walls special Brews and Booze – non-alcoholic drinks, too! Grab a snack and enjoy the company of other Bright Walls enthusiasts. This portion of the event is completely optional, but we’d love to spend time with you before the tour!  9:00 PM – 9:30 PM: We’re dropping an early artist announcement for all those in attendance. Hear before the rest of the world, who is on the line-up in 2019!  9:30 PM – 10:30 PM: We depart the brewery for your guided tour of Bright Walls – Night Walls. At each wall you will hear a never before told story or fact, along with other useful information to make you a Bright Walls expert! We’ll end our tour at the 2019 Bright Walls location!  General Admisson: $10   GET TICKETS HERE .

Concord Classic Weekend.  Concord Classic Weekend includes a festival, classic car show, sports tournaments and entertainment.  Friday’s activities include a Downtown Block Party at 5:30 PM and an adult Cornhole Tourney starting at 6 PM.

Arts in the Park Series.  7 PM.  Located in Swain Memorial Park, Brooklyn.  All concerts are free and family friendly!  Tonight:  Rhythm Ramblers.  Presented by Irish Hills Community Legacy and community sponsors, including Brooklyn Exponent,  JTV, Village of Brooklyn, West Bay Exploration, Absopure, Big Boy and ITC.

11th Annual Mick’s RIde.  The Mick’s Ride is the Jackson cycling event of the summer.  You’re invited to join P&T Fitness for the 11th Annual Mick’s Ride.   Mick Webster was wife and partner of George Webster, owner of Pedal and Tour for 33 years. She never gave up during her 6 year battle with Malignant Melanoma and we won’t give up fighting for a cure either.  100% of proceeds will go to Relay for Life, the annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  Routes: 18 mile family ride, 28 mile, 50 mile route, 100K route.  Support and gear vehicles will be driving area and there are refreshment stops along routes. Lunch is provided after the ride. Helmets are required by all riders.  Sign up here.

Marshall Motors Cancer Benefit Cruise In.   Free admission and fun for all!  10 AM to 4 PM.  Dash plaques to the  first 100 vehicles.  General store, log cabin, gas station, vintage museum, burn out pit, vintage playground.  Lots of stuff to see and enjoy.  Food and beverage will be available for a small fee.  Entertainment by Hot Southern Mess.  6161 Baldwin Road, Grass Lake/Waterloo.

Concord Classic Weekend.  Concord Classic Weekend includes a festival, classic car show, sports tournaments and entertainment.  On Saturday,  the Classic Car Show begins at 10:00am.  Live music throughout the afternoon and evening with Paper Lanterns, Garrett Collier & Sadie Bass, and The Metros.  Sports tournaments on Saturday are the Youth Cornhole Tourney at 3 PM and Adult Couples Cornhole at 6 PM.  The day concludes with fireworks at 10 PM.  Sunday, events include a golf scramble, baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball tourneys.  A euchre tourney is at 2PM.  Sunday’s entertainment by Secondary Road.  To register for tourneys, click here.  All events are held in downtown Concord and Gottschalk Park.

Rotary Bandshell Concert Series.  7 PM.  Free concert featuring the Rhythm Ramblers.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy this great concert!  Sponsored by Myers Family Little Caesars of Jackson and Jackson County Parks.  Rotary Bandshell, Cascades Falls Park

Ham Radio Field Day.  Come see ham radio in action!   Field day is when ham radio operators set up “in the field” to rehearse for an emergency, and try to contact as many other hams as possible around the world.   Jackson’s hams will be in the Sears Auto parking lot at Jackson Crossing to demonstrate their skills. The public is invited.  12 Noon to 4 PM.

Crawfest.  Join us for live music from Cat Canyon and Cajun fare. Funds raised will help support Rotary Club of Jackson’s efforts with disAbility Connections, building ramps, literacy projects, like Energizing Education and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and Junior Achievement.  Tickets price includes admission and fantastic Cajun food, including crawfish and delicious side dishes.  For event updates, visit the Facebook event page.  The Pointe, Clark Lake.  11 AM to 3 PM.
