Jackson College Fitness Court Ribbon Cutting.  5 PM.  Jackson College; Priority Health, and the National Fitness Campaign are pleased to announce the opening of an outdoor Priority Health Fitness Court^® Studio at Jackson College Central Campus on Aug. 12, 2024, at 5 p.m. This launch is made possible thanks to the statewide partnership between Priority Health and NFC to expand free access to high-quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities.  The Fitness Court is located near the ball fields across from the Jets Pavilion  on Jackson College Central Campus.

Jackson Audubon Workbee. 9 AM to 12 PM.  Jackson Audubon Society, in conjunction with Jackson, Lenawee, and Washtenaw CISMA, will be having a Spotted Knapweed Workbee at Phyllis Haehnle Memorial Sanctuary on Monday, August 12, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join us for a morning work session to help reduce this invasive plant on the sanctuary property. We will be removing this plant by the ‘mechanical’ method, meaning no herbicide will be used during the workbee. The sanctuary is located at Seymour Road across from Fairlane Drive in Grass Lake (near Jackson). Meet at the Wing Overlook kiosk on Seymour Road. Wear sturdy shoes or boots. Bring gloves, tick/insect repellent, and water.

The Village Southside Market.  11 AM to 2 PM.  Join us for fresh produce from local farmers, vendors, food, great conversations, education and much more.  Prizes and giveaways!  Every Monday in August.  Today:  Community, Collaboration, & Health.  YPOP Village Gardens, 1102 Maple Avenue, Jackson.  All are welcome!  Presented by Young People of Purpose, Black Food Sovereignty, and MSU Extension Service.

JATA Job Fair.  10 AM to 2 PM.  Jackson Area Transportation Authority (JATA) is hosting a job fair in partnership with Michigan Works Southeast, to be held on Monday, August 12th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Downtown Jackson Transfer Center. This event aims to connect job seekers with a variety of career opportunities within the public transportation sector.  The job fair will feature on-the-spot interviews, resume reviews, and opportunities to learn more about the various roles available at JATA. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resume and be prepared to engage with hiring managers.  127 West Cortland Street, Jackson.

Harmony Gardeners Concert at Dahlem. 6 PM to 7 PM.  Join us for a fun-filled evening of music at the Dahlem Center’s pavilion! Intended for all ages – Family Friendly! Please bring your own folding lawn chairs or picnic blanket to sit on to enjoy an outdoor concert featuring The Harmony Gardeners. This is a wonderful FREE concert for the entire family! Monday Night Comedy at the Enchanted Forest.  7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.  Join us for a night of Improv Comedy fun!  Monday Nights are Comedy Nights at The Enchanted Forest Bar & Grill in Jackson!
