Library of Things.  Starting this month, the Jackson District Library will have a Library of Things! A Library of Things offers non-traditional library items for check-out, and the first items in our collection are STEM kits. These kits contain projects and materials for a range of school-aged kids to explore STEM activities at home.  To explore the kit options and place a hold on a kit, search ‘Library of Things‘ in our online catalog.

Navajo Code Talkers.  Join the Jackson District Library for a virtual presentation by Laura Tohe, the daughter of a WWII Navajo Code Talker. This event will take place on Zoom and Facebook Live.  For the Zoom link, click here.  Who are the Navajo Code Talkers?  The Navajo Code Talkers are often-forgotten heroes of World War II. The Navajo created an unbreakable code, using their indigenous language to transmit sensitive information during the war. The code helped win the war in the Pacific and, undoubtedly, saved thousands of lives.
