Adopt A Family.  For families struggling to make ends meet, the holidays can be an added source of stress and anxiety.   Community Action Agency’s Adopt-a-Family program tries to ensure that the holiday season is a bit brighter. Staff select individual families within the programs CAA offers that are working towards self-sufficiency. CAA then partners with community members to adopt the individuals and families for the holidays. Partners typically provide at least one new toy and one new outfit for each child in the family, as well as a special holiday meal. Many partners provide more as they are able. Past partners share that they have suggest that it costs approximately $50-$75 per person.  If you are interested in adopting a family this year, contact Kate Lambert Lee at (517)539-8310 or by email at klee@caajlh.org.
