Chronic Pain Path Workshop presented by Region 2 Area Agency on Aging.  While we might not have control over having a condition that gives us chronic pain, we can learn how to manage it and still live well.  Chronic Pain PATH is a 6-week ON-LINE workshop that teaches tools to better self-manage symptoms and side effects as we face the daily challenges of living with a chronic condition like arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, or other pain conditions.MONDAYS from 1:00 – 3:30pm  thru October 5, 2020  (no meeting on Labor Day)WHERE: ON-LINE THROUGH ZOOM.  COST=FREE!  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ON-LINE  OR call Region 2 Area Agency on Aging to register at 517-592-1678.

Salvation Army Food Pantry.  The Salvation Army of Jackson County Food Pantry Hours:  Regular Pantry Hours are 10 am-noon and 1-2 pm Monday through Thursday.  Food Boxes are available every 30 days.*In an emergency food may be provided from 2-4:30 pm -please call ahead – 517-782-7185.   

Golf United.  The weather is gorgeous! What better reason do you need for a round of golf? How about a round of golf that helps those in need in our community? That’s what Golf UNITED is all about! And we’re doing it in a socially distanced way!  Golf anytime between now and October 2 at Hankerd Hills.  Includes a goodie bag and meal at the club.  $100 per person, 4-person teams. Questions? School Age Child Care.  Jackson YMCA and Jackson Public Schools are partnering to offer school-age child care for young fives through fifth grade.  Beginning August 31, fee-based full-day and after-school care will be available at T.A. Wilson and financial assistance is available.  The program will adhere to safety guidelines and includes homework assistant and fun activities.  Due to distancing requirements, space is limited so sign up today at JacksonYMCA.org.

Jackson YMCA Outdoor Exercise Classes.  Join the outdoor group exercise classes at the downtown Jackson YMCA.  Free for members, $5 for most classes for non-members.  Bring a mat, water bottle and towel.  Complete schedule at jacksonymca.org

Henry Ford Allegiance Race to Health.  To protect the health and safety of participants, Henry Ford Allegiance Health will host its annual Race to Health as a virtual event in September 2020. Runners and walkers will choose a day within the range of September 12 through 26 to participate in the 5K run, 5K walk or 5-mile run individually. They will then report their times and be recognized for being part of this health-promoting community event.  Details on the virtual race and other run/walk events are available at HenryFord.com/Race. Registration is available online.  Anyone exercising away from home is encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask for their own protection and the safety of others.
