Jackson County Veterans Day.  11 AM.  Join the Jackson County Veterans Council as local Veterans and Veterans service organizations are honored at this annual event.  Withington Park, Downtown Jackson.

Veterans Day Dedication Service.  1:30 to 3 PM.  You are invited to the Dedication Service of the African American Village Memorial Gardens Honoring Veterans and Freedom Seekers.  151 Rockwell Street, Jackson (corner of Rockwell and Williams).  Reception following from 3 to 5 PM at 1203 First Street.  Celebrate the honorable African American men and women who served, struggled, advanced and positively changed the structure of these United States of America, locally and across the world.  Presented by YPOP EXPLORERS,  a 501c3 Youth & Community Organization that Empowers Youth to Succeed through the ABC’S of Success Art, Business, Culture & Service, Markets, Gardens and Technology.

Wine, Women & Shopping Event.  It’s that time of year again!! The #shopchelseamich merchants will be hosting the 17th annual Wine, Women & Shopping Event starting November 11 at 10 am through late in the day on November 12. Jackson High School presents “Legend of Sleepy Hollow”.  “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” runs this weekend at the Jackson High School Auditorium.   Fri. and Sat. at 7:00, Sun. at 3:00. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Grass Lake High School presents “A Christmas Carol”.  A Christmas Carol opens this weekend!  Approximately 40 middle and high school students have been hard at work to bring A Christmas Carol to life this weekend.  Truly, this is an amazing group of actors, crew, and musicians.  Show times are Friday and Saturday (11/11 and 12) at 7:00 and Sunday (11/13) at 3:00.  You can still purchase tickets for the in-person performances or live-streamed online at grasslake.ludus.com

Center Stage Jackson presents Something Rotten.  7 PM.  Hope to see you there!  Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” Something Rotten features large song and dance numbers and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each given his or her own special moment in the show to shine. Something Rotten! officially opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre in 2015. It was nominated for ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Its cast album received a nomination for the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.  Tickets at the door and here.

Veterans Day Dinner.  5 PM to 8 PM.  This is to honor our Veterans.  Open to the public.  Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, roll, dessert.  $12 per plate.  Veterans are free.  Michigan Center Eagles, 302 Fifth Street, Michigan Center.  All proceeds from the dinner will go towards our Veteran’s project in 2023.

Girls Skate and Girls Try Hockey for Free.  6:30 to 7:30 PM.  JAHA is inviting all the girls in our association to skate and a chance to say ‘thank you’ to CNB as they have sponsored our girls program this year and plan to be at this event!  Come skate and bring a friend!  This Try Hockey for Free event is sponsored by CNB and designed to provide girls ages 4 to 9 the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff. Pinter Whitnick at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  We’re excited to welcome back Pinter Whitnick to Ironbark! Their blend of 80’s and 90’s alternative/pop is a blast! You don’t want to miss this talented duo while they’re here!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Cascades Humane Society’s Santa Paws.  10 AM to 4 PM.  Santa Paws is a wonderful way to have your fur family’s photo taken with Santa while supporting Cascades Humane Society! From November 4th-6th and November 11th-13th, for a $15 non-refundable donation, you can bring in your pets, sit with Santa, and receive one 5×7 print. Additional prints, ornaments, gifts, and holiday cards, professionally printed by Picture This…Jackson, are available to order as well. 100% of the proceeds benefit the pets and programs at the Cascades Humane Society!  Walk-ins are welcome. JaxNax Women’s Expo and Craft Show.  10 AM to 3 PM. Check out more than 100 amazing vendors at the JaxNaz Church Women’s Expo & Craft Show! Eco-Art with Grant Maniér.  Ella Sharp Museum. Eco Art is an art genre that takes recycled materials and uses them to create recycled art. Featured Horizon artist Grant Maniér will be on hand to facilitate this Eco-Art Presentation, which helps to raise awareness of special artistic talents and environmental responsibility. The ticket price includes the presentation, art kit, and admission to the museum/galleries.  Price: $20 ($15 for members)  Date: November 12 @ 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

Western Academic Boosters Craft Show.  10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Admission $3.  Western High School, 1400 S. Dearing Road, Parma.  Find a unique gift for those on your shopping list!

Holiday Craft Fair.  9 AM to 4 PM.  Michigan Center Eagles #3634 Auxiliary is hosting their Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday November 12th from 9:00AM-4:00PM. This is open to the public. Come out and see all the beautiful arts and crafts. A great way to start some holiday shopping.   All proceeds from the Holiday Craft Fair will go to the Madam Presidents Charity The Fraternal Order of Eagles Cancer Fund.  302 Fifth Street, Michigan Center.

League of Women Voters Friendship Tea.  You are invited to the Fourth Annual Friendship Tea.  10:30am – 1:00pm.  It is a unique time to enjoy friends and family and is open to women, men, and children of all ages who can remain seated for the duration!  Unity Church, 3385 Miles Rd., Jackson.

Jackson Symphony Orchestra Fire & Ice Concert. 7:30 PM.  he JSO teams up with the Jackson Youth Symphony Orchestra to present Mexican composer Arturo Marquez’s red-hot Congo del Fuego Nuevo. Decruck’s Heroic Poem is a work that the JSO recorded last season and features Michigan-native Leelanee Sterrett on French horn and Amy McCabe on trumpet from “The President’s Own” Marine Band. After our fiery first half, we close the concert with warm music from a cold place–Finnish composer Jean Sibelius’s famous 2nd Symphony!  Join us for a free, interactive lecture before the concert at 6:30pm.  Tickets and info here.

Gospel Concert.  3 PM.  In our sanctuary, Walter Williams Jr, along with Scott and Nate Wiley will share with us an afternoon of inspiration. Walter Williams shares his life changing experience through faith. The Wiley family has operated the gospel barn in Hillsdale, Michigan since 1974 and share 49 years of “making a Joyful noise to the Lord”!  Come and worship with us!  Doors open at 2PM. Tickets are $5 at the door. Children under 12 are free.  First United Methodist Church, 275 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

Board Game Sundays.  Come to the Carnegie Library Quiet Reading Room to play some board games or do puzzles every Sunday from 1:30-4:30 PM. The library will provide the games, you provide the fun!  This program is open to all ages.

Fall Family Movies at the Eastern Branch.  Join us on the second Sunday of the month at the Jackson District Library Eastern Branch for a family movie!  November 13, 2 PM: Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.
