The The Laugh Company presents… “The Improv Show”.  The Laugh Company is back! We are excited to announce we will be performing at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, on Friday, October 22nd. The Laugh Company has performed all over Jackson for more than 10 years. Consistently performing to full audiences, they’ve continued to outgrow their venue. Now it’s time to take the pinnacle stage in Jackson, The Michigan Theatre. With comedy in the style of improv, most commonly compared to the hit television show, “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” the cast is sure to provide a night of laughs with constant audience suggestions and participation.   Cast: Alex Soper, Vannessa Williams, Adam Woolsey and Tommy Lopez. All proceeds benefit the Michigan Theatre. Tickets in advance are $10.00 (online) – or – $12.00 the day of the event.  7:30 PM  (doors open at 7:00)  $10.00.  Michigan Theatre of Jackson, 124 N Mechanic St, Jackson.

Rummage Sale.  1st Congregational Church will be having our Annual Fall Rummage, Bake and Plant sale on Friday Oct 22 from 9am until 5 pm. On Saturday, Oct 23 from 9 am until noon we will be having a dollar bag sale. Craft items for sale are stamping, card making supplies, many yards goods, patterns, sewing bench, colored sand, quilt squares, hemp rope , an iron and wood working.  120 N Jackson St, Jackson.

 eKids Fall Party.   6 PM.  Encounter Church in Jackson.  Come and enjoy some fall fun with our eKids families. There will be cider, doughnuts, a bonfire and so much more!  620 Robinson Rd, Jackson.

Ghouls, Goblins and Golf.  Join us for a ghoulish evening of mini golf – but beware – the dinosaurs are the least of your worries!  Friday, Oct 22  Saturday, October 23, Sunday, October 24.  $10 per person
(Includes 1 free popcorn and drink per person).  May not be suitable for younger goblins! Jurassic Golf, 3600 Wayland Drive, Jackson.

Grand River Farmers Market.   9 am until 2 pm.  The market is full of MICHIGAN GROWN PRODUCE including fresh vegetables, fruits, organic goods, vegan cookies, muffins, granola, honey, jams, breads, pastas, jewelry, dog treats, salsas, fruit pies, sweet corn, tomatoes, hanging flower baskets, blueberries, maple syrup, chard, broccoli, peas, mums, and much more!  They are now accepting credit cards and bridge cards.  The Grand River Farmers Market is next to the Grand River Brewery.

The 30th Annual Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists OctoberFest 8k/5k Run/Walk.  Races begin at 8 AM.  The ORS Octoberfest 8k/5k event will start and finish at Grand River Brewery. The course includes the Armory Arts Trail, Jackson High campus, the historic prison, and various streets of downtown. Both the 8k and 5k courses are USATF certified. Grand River Brewery will be opening at 8:00 am to accommodate the participant’s family and friends with the breakfast menu including the famous GRB Bloody Mary Bar.  ALL registered participants will receive a breakfast buffet ticket and an ORS race shirt!  Great prizes and awards!  Superhero Kids Fun Run at 10 AM.  Kids wear superhero costumes and chase villains across the finish line.  All kids get an awesome goodie bag!  Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers of Open and Masters Divisions in the 8k Run, 5k Run, and 5k Walk, as well as the top three finishers in each age group. 

DJ Tate 5 (Official DJ of Olivet College) will be on site to provide music and help host both our race and the Beer Mile! Special appearance by Jack the Elephant from Experience Jackson for the Kids SuperHero Run!

Packet pick-up and running seminars (5:30 PM to 6:30 PM) will take place the night before the race.

Grand River Brewery Polish Lager Beer Mile.  11 AM.  Join us at Grand River Brewery in Downtown Jackson for one of our favorite events of the year.. the 3rd Annual Polish Lager BEER MILE!  What’s a beer mile? Chug a beer. Run a quarter-mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter-mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter-mile. Chug a beer. Run a quarter-mile.  Registration fee includes your bib, race time, and a 313 Polish Lager t-shirt. Here are our rules. No exceptions. YOU MUST BE 21 TO RUN THIS EVENT**. You will be REQUIRED to have ID with you when you pick up your bib. – No ID. No running.  You must drink your beer out of a 12 OZ can of Grand River 313 Polish Lager that we provide.  You are REQUIRED to either have a DD for the event. You will not be able to participate if you do not have a plan, you will not be able to drive home if you participate in the event.   Details and registration here.

Zombie Bar Crawl Fundraiser.  Join in for a night of fun at our Zombie Bar Crawl Fundraising event!  Tickets are $40/person and includes 5 drink tickets – 1 ticket per bar during the event, light appetizers, entrance into the Costume Contest, and participation in raffles.  100% of the proceeds are donated to the Children’s Free Care Fund at C.S. Huff Auto Trunk or Treat.  Huff Auto Group has partnered up with Mr. Tunes, Wildwood Auto Wash, Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill, Golf Cart Outfitters, and Mid-Michigan Trailers for a trunk or treat so bring your little ghosts and goblins out for doughnuts, cider, pumpkins, and candy!!! The trunk or treat will take place on Saturday, October 23rd from 11 to 1.  2800 Wildwood Avenue, Jackson.

Baker College Trunk or Treat.  Baker College is hosting its first ever Trunk or Treat, come join us for fun, food, and treats!!  Free and open to the public!  Come dressed in your favorite Halloween Costume, we’d love to see your creativity.  Rain or Shine we will be here, so don’t be afraid to join us for a spooky good time!! 2800 Springport Road, Jackson.

Bookmobile Bash.  2 PM to 4 PM.  Help us celebrate the return of the Jackson District Library Bookmobile! We’ll have games, balloon animals, Bookmobile tours, JDL swag and more, so stop by and join the fun!  Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, 1107 Adrian Street, Jackson.

Jackson County Animal Shelter Trunk or Treat. 5 PM to 7 PM.  It’s time for the Annual Jackson County Animal Shelter Halloween Trunk or Treat! Come one come all to this people and pet friendly event at the Jackson County Animal Shelter.  Dress yourself, kids and pets in your favorite costume and come join the fun. JCAS Staff, Volunteers and Supporters will be there passing out candy and treats for all. October 23rd 2021 from 5pm-7pm.  3370 Spring Arbor Road, Jackson.

Open Blues Jam at the Michigan Theatre.  7 PM.  Open Jam…FREE EVENT.  Open Jam Hosted by “THE GUILTY PARTY” FEATURING VANESSA LOWDER, Jim Reed, Mike McGivern, Johnny White, and Greg Sauceda. Bring your instrument and sign up to PLAY! It’s FREE! How Do I sign Up to Play? Simply write your name on the sign up sheet located at the concession stand and include the instrument (voice included) you will use to perform. How Long Are The Shows? Most shows last about three hours with a short break between sets.  Come to watch or get up to jam! Either way, its FREE! Doors open at 6:30 pm. Music starts at 7:00 pm. Bar and concessions available for purchase.

Halloweenfest at the Parlour.  2 PM to 7 PM.
