Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  Shop farm fresh produce from local farmers, including vegetables, fruits, plants, and flowers.  Seasonal products including fall decor, pumpkins, craft and home goods.   Presented by the Downtown Development Authority.  Grand River Pavilion, in front of Grand River Brewery, corner of Glick and Mechanic Streets, downtown Jackson.

Jackson Antique & Collectible Show.  10 AM to 5 PM.  Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.  American 1 Event Center, Keeley Park, Downtown Jackson.  It’s a picker’s dream. Where you will find Knicknacks, Cast iron pans, Fishing gear, Primitive, Furniture, T-shirts, Paper literature, Collectibles, Games, Tools, Toys, Vinyl records, Linens, Yard Art, House accessories, and vintage. Lost Railway Museum Celebration of Success Party.  The event begins at 5:30 with Hors d’oeuvre, welcome, introduction and new displays.  At 6:30, Toast and Recognition, visit displays.  Celebrate the restoration of Car #47 and ride the Boland Express.  Lost Railway Museum, 142 W. Michigan Ave., Grass Lake.

Jackson High School Homecoming.  Activities leading up to the Tecumseh vs Jackson football game include:  Food Truck Tailgate (4:30 to 7 PM), Alumni All Star Basketball Game (6 PM), Homecoming Parade (starting at Walmart at 6 PM), Game kickoff at 7 PM.  Halftime show features the JHS Marching Band and JHS Alumni Band.

Meet & Greet and Volunteer Lunch. 11 AM to 1 PM.  Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity.   We’re having a Meet and Greet lunch to present Sheila M. Everts, MA as our new Executive Director to the community. We’ll have hot dogs and chips and a “sucker drawing,” where event attendees can pull a color-coded sucker that corresponds to a prize, such as gift certificates, coupons, gift baskets, or other donated items from area businesses. 251 West Prospect Street, Jackson.

The Imposters Live at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join The Impostors for an evening of alternative folk and groovy jam tunes!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Zoerman’s Zombies.  Haunted 3-D Experience at ART 634. The spirits of prisoners past that haunt the old factory buildings of Jackson’s Fork and Hoe District have possessed the artists of Art 634. Will you escape Zoerman’s Closet in this haunted 3-D experience? Only if you can convince the demon baby.  $20 per person.  Running every Thursday – Sunday, 6 pm – 12 am (last group at 11:30 pm) thru November 6.  Art 634, 634 N. Mechanic Street, Jackson.

Autumn at the Arbor.  10 AM to 6 PM.  You’re invited to Autumn at the Arbor: a Spring Arbor University Homecoming! Homecoming is a celebration for everyone — alums, students, faculty/staff, parents, siblings, and community members! No Sittin’ in the Mitten Clogging Workshop.  Don’t miss this exciting full-day multi-instructor seminar for clogging enthusiasts! Dancers will have the choice of 3 different rooms each hour. K105.3 Fall Festival and Chili Cookoff.  12 PM to 8:30 PM.  2nd annual K105.3 Fall Fest & Chili Classic, sponsored by Tripp’s Auto Shop, County National Bank, Bud Light, and Monster Motors.  Downtown Jackson.  This FREE event will have a variety of family-friendly fall activities, the K105.3 Chili Cook-Off, and live music on the streets of downtown Jackson. Chili contestants and vendor booths will be located along Michigan Avenue. This event will be free to attend; however, those wishing to taste chili and salsa must buy a wristband for $5.00. There will be 2 designated areas for purchasing tasting wristbands. Designated adult beverage area provided by the Michigan Theatre.  12 pm-6 pm Vendors & Kids Kingdom with games, pumpkin painting, petting zoo & pony rides.  Kids Costume Parade followed by Halloween Movie (Hocus Pocus) at Michigan Theatre at 2 PM.  Noon-5 pm Chili Cook-Off.  Unlimited chili tasting for $5.00 (2 pm til approx. 4:30 pm).  Live Music throughout the day on 2 stages:  Kevin Nichols (12 PM to 2 PM), Todd Michael & Pete Johnson (2 PM to 2:50 PM), Kaylyn Pace (3 PM to 3:50 PM), Whiskey & Wine (4 PM to 4:50 PM), Jason Cross (5 PM to 6:15 PM), Your Generation in Concert (6:30 PM to 8:30 PM).  Fireworks at the conclusion of the day!

The Maestro Returns.  7:30 PM.  Jackson Symphony Orchestra.  Conductor Laureate Stephen Osmond returns to the podium to conduct Shostakovich’s 5th symphony and La Valse by Ravel. In collaboration with world famous concert pianist William Westney, Osmond presents Richard Addinsell’s poignant Warsaw Concerto. This program is sure to feature a surprise or two! Art à Loan Open House.  12 PM.  Ella Sharp Museum.  Join us in celebrating the achievements of our 2022 Art à Loan students and the Jackson District Library’s Young Poets during our Art à Loan Open House! Artwork and poems can be viewed with no admission charge, professionally framed and hung throughout the hallways of the Ella Sharp Museum. We will have light refreshments available.

Acoustic Improvisation with Jim Reed.  2 PM.  Bring your guitar, bass, or any instrument to play on stage in small combos or as a soloist. Electric and acoustic piano will be provided (and a 1956 Hammond B3). Multi instrumentalist Jim Reed will host this two hour exploration. Fun is promised.  Free admission!  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Tecumseh Center for the Arts Auditions.  Tecumseh Center for the Arts, in collaboration with The Tecumseh Players and the TCA Big Band and VocalAires, is holding auditions for its production of the WTCA Radio Show A Christmas Carol.  Auditions for the WTCA Radio Show will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. in the Tecumseh Center for the Arts’ rehearsal room, 400 N. Maumee St, Tecumseh, Michigan. The rehearsal room is located at the southeast corner of the building. Pre-registration is encouraged by going to www.theTCA.org and clicking on the box office tab. Registration can also be completed the day of auditions.  Dates for the WTCA Radio Show performances are December 10th & 11th, with rehearsals TBA.
