Hot Air Jubilee presented by American 1 Credit Union.  Join us July 18-21 for the 37th Anniversary of the Hot Air Jubilee! Hot air balloons will launch (weather permitting) from Ella Sharp Park on Thursday evening (Media flight), Friday morning, Friday Evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning.  Throughout the event, come out the park and enjoy carnival rides, live entertainment, food vendors, Ella Sharp Museum, craft booths, the Kids Kingdom, a pilot meet and greet, and a car show. Be sure to stick around Friday and Saturday Evening for the Night Glow. For a full list of activities see our website: hotairjubilee.com.   There is a $5 parking fee if you want to park inside of the park, which we encourage you to do as it helps us continue to bring this event back to Jackson each year!  The festival grounds open at 4 PM Thursday.

Michigan Theatre presents Summer Kids Series:  A Dog’s Journey.  Some friendships transcend lifetimes. In A Dog’s Journey, the sequel to the heartwarming global hit A Dog’s Purpose, beloved dog Bailey finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined.  11 AM and 2 PM.  $4 Combos  Small Pop and Small Popcorn.  Admission 1 Dollar.  Sponsored by 2019 Annual Spring Tea at Baker College and Kiwanis Club of Jackson.

Paint, Pour, Splat!  Thursdays: July 18, 25 & August 1.  Ages 5-8 4:00-5:00.  Ages 9-13 5:30-6:30.  $27 includes all supplies.  Let’s throw some paint! The abstract artist, Jackson Pollock, will be our inspiration. We will enjoy some outdoor summer painting fun! Paint will be flying from all directions to cover our canvas with splashes of color. Sprinkle on some glitter and glitz, then layer with paper designs, to create a stunning mixed-media painting on canvas. Summer at the Jackson District Library.  All branches of the Jackson District Library are hosting Summer Reading along with a host of classes, presentations, hands-on activities and crafts, games and more.  Check the schedule every day at myjdl.com.

Concord Area Players present “State Fair”.  The Concord Area Players Present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair. Come see the show from July 17-20 at 7pm and July 20-21 at 3pm at the Concord branch of the Jackson District Library. Tickets are $11 for Adults, $5 Dollars for Students. But if money’s a problem, no worries, our first show on the 17th is FREE admission, with an optional donation.

Ella’s Patio Party.  5:30 to 7:30 PM, Ella Sharp Museum.  $5 (free for members).  Cash bar.  Entertainment by Ian Stewart and refreshments by Junkyard Dog.

25th Anniversary Season of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival.  All performances at Baughman Theatre, Jackson College Potter Center.  Tonight, preview performance of Cyrano de Bergerac.  7:30 PM.  Q&A follows performance.  Tickets at 517-796-8600 and online at michiganshakespearefestival.com.

6th Annual Feast in the Field.  Join us Thursday, July 18th at Cherry Creek Winery for our most popular annual event: the 6th Annual Feast in the Field, a gourmet feast prepared and served to you in the midst of our picturesque vineyards in the Irish Hills.   All food will be accompanied by ample portions of our perfectly paired, award winning wines, ciders, beers, and spirits.  $75 per person includes food, drinks, and witty stories.
