The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. 9 AM to 2 PM.  The Market is outdoors, at their official summer location – at the corner of E. Michigan Ave and Waterloo Street in Jackson (across from Henry Ford Allegiance Health – Main Hospital).  Every Thursday.  Connect with them HERE.  All food and products sold at The Green Market at Allegiance Health are grown and produced in Michigan using little or no pesticides, herbicides, inorganic fertilizers, or antibiotics. Leoni Summer Nights.  5 PM to 8 PM.  Leoni Township Park’s summer series featuring music, food and more.  Tonight, music by The Liver Spots.  Lions Club $10 dinner & 50/50 proceeds to MC GoFundMe, in person donations also accepted for MC GoFundMe  (checks payable to Michigan Center Athletic Boosters).  MC Boosters Spirit Shop on site with new summer tops, proceeds also benefiting MC GoFundMe.  Leoni Township Park, 5th Street, Michigan Center. 

Gus Macker + Jurassic Golf Outing.  The team at Jurassic Golf, the new miniature golf course in Jackson, and Gus Macker #JacksonMI are joining forces for a family-friendly golf outing to kick of the big weekend in town! All profits from the Gus Macker event are distributed to non-profits and volunteer groups in the Jackson community, so the funds raised from this event are being redistributed to some great, local causes!  There are no additional fees than normal putting rates. This is simply an opportunity to get out of the house and check out the new course in town with family, friends, your love interest, colleagues, or even by yourself and make some new friends on the greens!  There will be some prizes and activities throughout the afternoon, so pack up the family and check out Jurassic Golf on the 22nd to celebrate some family-friendly recreation in town!Connect at their Facebook event here.

Summer Kids Movie Series.  The Michigan Theatre, 124 N. Mechanic Street in Jackson is hosting a Summer Kids Series. There will be kid-friendly movies showing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 A.M. and 2 P.M. Sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Jackson, Robbie Curtis Charitable Trust and Consumers Energy.  Doors open 30 Minutes before screening time.  $1 Admission.  $4 Kids Combo (Small Pop and Popcorn). This week’s movie:  Tom & Jerry.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Jackson District Library Summer Reading Program:  Tails & Tales.  This week:  City Critters.  Presented by the Detroit Zoological society, this program will introduce participants to the wild animals who share their neighborhoods, help them build empathy for these animals, and show them how they can help the animals.  This program will be available on JDL’s Facebook page and online at myjdl.com.

Cascades Splash Pad.  Monday thru Saturday, 11 AM to 7 PM.  Sunday 12 PM to 6 PM.  Fenced-in area on south side of Cascades Falls.  Zero-depth facility safe and fun for all ages.  12+ water features including waterfalls, arches, fountains ad getting poured on by the giant water bucket.  Lounge chairs, patio, concessions.  Season and family passes available, along with birthday party packages.
