#TBT Photo:  The Holidome, Jackson’s original Holiday Inn,  circa 1994.  The Holiday Inn of Jackson opened in the early 1960s.  The Holidome was added in 1980 and remodeled in the early 1990s.  Following ownership changes, the hotel was renamed The Avalon in 2008.  By 2014, the hotel had fallen into dis-repair and was demolished.  The recently opened Towneplace Suites by Marriott and the Courtyard by Marriott (still under construction) now occupy the site.
