Trinity Lutheran Church Annual Harvest Dinner.  This year’s dinner will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the fellowship hall of the church, 122 W. Wesley St.  The meal will feature the traditional fare of roasted pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade applesauce, green beans, fresh-baked pie and beverages. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 11, and free for children under 5. Takeout will be available.  4:30 PM.  Trinity Lutheran Church, 122 W. Wesley Street, Jackson.

Sip & Shop.  Downtown Jackson shops and restaurants invite you to Sip & Shop, a chance to discover unique shops, boutiques, dining and entertainment establishments.  Each business will be offering specials, prizes and refreshments between the hours of 5 PM and 8 PM.  Following the event, all are invited to gather at Grand River Brewery at 8 PM for prize drawings, refreshments and more fun.  Participating businesses are:  Anna’s Gifts & Home Decor, A Frame Above and 180 Chic Boutique, The Crazy Cowboy, Jackson Candle Company, The Blessed Nest, City Crepes, The Blue Julep, Rustic Market, Windy Hill Creations, Gilbert Chocolates, Walt’s Health Foods, Grand River Brewery, The Orange Peacock Gallery (pictured above), CottonTales Toys and Veritas.  All businesses are located downtown on Michigan Avenue, Jackson Street, Pearl Street and Mechanic Street.  Grab your friends for a fun night downtown!

Henry Ford Allegiance Health Fair.  Free screenings will be available on a walk-in basis for:  Blood Pressure, Sensory Balancel Pulse Oximetry, Stroke Risk Screening, Body Mass Index, Total Cholesterol, Bone Density.  Please call (517) 205-2148 or (844) 765-8272 to schedule your arterial vascular screening. Salvation Army Christmas 2019 Toys, Warm Clothes and Food Family Signup.  The Salvation Army of Jackson County (806 E. Pearl Street Jackson) is signing up families for its Christmas 2019 distribution of food, warm clothing & toys. This program offers families the extra support they need, providing warm clothing, toys for children age 0-14 years old and a plentiful Christmas food box with all the fixings for a special dinner.  The Christmas 2019 Food, Warm Clothing & Toy sign-up schedule today is 8:30 AM to 11 AM and 1 PM to 3 PM.

Red Cross Blood Drive.  As influenza activity picks up this fall, the American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets to ensure a strong blood supply for patients in need. Blood and platelets can only be given by donors who are feeling well. The following are dates, times, and locations where you may consider donating blood in the Jackson area.
