Friends of the Jackson District Library Book Sale.  Celebrate the start of the Holiday Season at the Carnegie Library!  All proceeds benefit the Jackson District Library!  Book Sale Hours: November 21, 9 AM – 7 PM, November 22, 9 AM – 7 PM, November 23, 9 AM – 2 PM.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Wreaths Across America Benefit Steak Dinner.  308 Brass Rail, 308 West Prospect Street.  $35 ticket admits one and includes soup/sald, steak dinner and two complimentary drinks.  Live music, Christmas tree silent auction, 50/50 raffles.  All proceeds will support Wreaths Across America, providing remembrance wreaths for the graves of veterans in St. John Cemetery.  More details at 517-783-1728.  7 PM.

Jackson YMCA Active Older Adult Luncheon.Join us at noon for a Thanksgiving feast, complete with turkey. The event is free and open to the community; attendees should bring a holiday passing dish. RSVP to aoajacksonymca@gmail.com. And mark your calendars now for the December luncheon, held Dec. 12, one week early due to Christmas. 

November Theme Night Series “Kingpin”.  Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) is a young bowler with a promising career ahead of him until a disreputable colleague, Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray), tricks him into participating in a con game that ends with Roy’s bowling hand crippled for life. Years later, Roy ekes out a hardscrabble existence until he discovers Amish bowling phenom Ishmael (Randy Quaid). With the help of a gangster’s girlfriend (Vanessa Angel), he plots to take Ishmael to the top of the bowling world.  Doors Open at 6:30 P.M.  Film Starts at 7:00 P.M.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Alzheimer’s Awareness Event.  Join representatives from the Jackson County Department on Aging and Project Bridge to learn how to help the loved ones in your life who have Alzheimer’s and explore treatment options, as well as how to recognize the early signs.  Feel free to bring any questions you might have for the experts to answer!  6 PM to 7 PM, Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Kids N Stuff Free Day.  Because everyone will be with their families eating turkey and pumpkin pie on the fourth Thursday of November, Kids ‘N’ Stuff Children’s Museum November Free Day is THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21!  Free admission for your whole family from 10am to 7pm!  And heads up! The December Free Day will be on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6 to coincide with the Albion Aglow Parade.   Kids ’N’ Stuff Children’s Museum, Downtown Albion.

Gingerbread House Bake Off Competition.  Join Habitat for Humanity Thursday, November 21 at the Weatherwax Hall in Jackson for a festive evening including celebrity judging, cookie decorating activity, awards dinner and more.  100% of this year’s auction proceeds will benefit DeLand Pointe, A Habitat Neighborhood. DeLand Pointe is a 14-home development planned as a neighborhood near downtown that will provide stability and self-reliance through home ownership for low-income families in Jackson.  View the Facebook page for event details including gingerbread house submission and judging. Click here to purchase tickets.
