Jackson Community Forum:  No Neighbor Left Behind.  The Jackson Citizens Advisory Council was formed recently to advocate for citizens in order to solve problems and create a more peaceful community. Learn about two recent projects: increased street lighting on the South Side and saving homes from foreclosure. Explore these and other current issues as well as the perspectives of various stakeholders.  The JXN Community Forums are free and open programs to facilitate dialogue about challenging issues of our day. The forums are co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Jackson District Library.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library. 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Grand River Brewery presents A Culinary Journey with Emmanuel: A taste of the world through our friend’s journey working in some of the best restaurants in the world!  Join us November 8th at Grand River Brewery in Jackson for a fundraising dinner in honor of our dear friend and talented chef, Emmanuel Saintin.  Emmanuel Saintin, a French native, traveled the culinary world before bringing his talents to Michigan. He was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Join us for a five course dinner with wine pairings based on the Michelin star restaurants that were a part of his journey.  5 Courses, 5 Wine Pairings.  $75 a person, $55 a person without wine pairings.  All proceeds will benefit Emmanuel Saintin and his family.  7 PM to 10 PM.  (517) 962-2427.

Wine Tasting Fundraiser for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.  Presented by Right at Home of South Central Michigan.  6 PM to 9 PM, The Hunt Club, 1514 Daniel Road, Jackson.  Tickets are $25.  50/50 drawings and silent auction.

Theme Night Film Series:  The Big Lebowski.  Theme Night Films is a series that was developed with patrons in mind. With a fun, new theme every month, the films will never be the same. With horror films, cult favorites, and holiday films, the last quarter of the year is sure to have something for everyone.  This is when being a member pays off! Invasive Species with Dr. Shikha Singh. Dr. Singh,  Coordinator of the Jackson, Lenawee, and Washtenaw Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area, will discuss invasive species, why we should care, and how we can help the effort to prevent their spread.   Program is free and open to the public.
