The 31st Jackson Storyfest continues today with LaRon Williams and his much anticipated “Silver Tales” for the Young at Heart. Packaged especially for seniors, this event will be hosted at the Ella Sharp Museum in their Community Room beginning at 10 a.m.  Free admission.

JAXPO 2018 Business to Business Showcase.  JAXPO gives businesses the unique opportunity to highlight their enterprises, network with current and potential customers and celebrate the best Jackson has to offer.  1 PM to 7 PM.  Allskate Fun Center, 1313 West North Street, Jackson.  $10 at the door unless you have a JAXPO ticket which will get you in the door for free.  DOWNLOAD FREE TICKET HERE.

Economic Club Luncheon.  Enjoy an informative speech and a delicious meal.  Dr. Salah Huwais and team have grown Versah into an international company over the past few years.  Join us to learn about their highs and lows in their story of a growing business.  11:30 AM, Optimist Ice Arena, 1300 West North Street.  $30 at the door for Chamber members, $50 for future Chamber members.  Call 517-782-8221.

Fill the Blue Bus.  The Jackson YMCA be taking the Blue Bus all over Jackson to collect items for our online auction. Bring anything you want to get rid of (big or small, as long as it’s in good condition) to our Blue Bus. We’ll auction everything in November, and proceeds go to help Y kids and families.  On Thursday, you can find the Blue Bus at:  CP Federal Credit Union, Clinton Road, from 11 AM to 1 PM.  This is your chance to help a great cause!

Theme Night Films.  The Michigan Theatre presents a new weekly series that was developed with patrons in mind.  With a fun, new theme each month, the films will never be the same.   Members get great discounts on concessions.  Tonight, The Exorcist.  7 PM.  $5 general admission.

Loving Hands, Safe Communities.  Come and join us as we explore the impact of domestic violence to the individual, family and community; through a video, speakers, art and dance. We will further identify resources available in the Jackson area to address and heal from domestic violence.  JSO Weatherwax Hall, 215 West Michigan Avenue.  Free admission.  6 PM to 8:30 PM.  Refreshments, spoken word poetry, Jackson Academy for the Arts, Special guest Sabrina Corbin.  Presented by the Jackson City Council, Human Relations Commission and AWARE.  Sponsored by the Center for Family Health.

Adult Craft Night.  Join the Spring Arbor Branch of the Jackson District Library for an evening of crafts!  The Spring Arbor Branch will be hosting craft night twice a month during October and November. Each session will be a different type of craft. The type of craft will be announced on the 1st of the month.  Limited seating available, so REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
