Jackson County Fair presents $2 Tuesday.  $2 admission, food and vendor specials and $2 rides.  Rides begin at 2 PM.  Grant Reiff Band at 1 PM and 5 PM on the Pavilion Stage.  Grandstand show:  Theory of a Deadman with special guest Pop Evil at 7 PM.  Tickets are $49, $39 and $29 and include gate admission.  More details at www.jacksoncountyfair.net.

Exercise With Us:  LifeWays Walking Club.  Meet up with the LifeWays Crew to walk around Cascades every Tuesday at 1 PM. We meet at the falls, by the big pavilion.   Drop in whenever you can. Free Vision and Hearing Clinic.  Michigan law requires a child to have a hearing and vision screening before they enter kindergarten.  The Jackson County Health Department provides FREE screenings that fulfill the requirement for school entry. Walk-in clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm through the end of August. The clinics are held at the Jackson County Health Department at 1715 Lansing Ave, Jackson, MI 49202, Second Floor, Room 246.

The Grand River Farmers Market is open today from 9 am until 2 pm at the corner of Louis Glick & Mechanic Street in Downtown Jackson.  The market features Michigan-grown produce; including fresh vegetables, fruits, organic goods, vegan cookies, muffins, granola, honey, jams, breads, pastas, jewelry, dog treats, salsas, fruit pies, sweet corn, tomatoes, hanging flower baskets, blueberries, maple syrup, chard, broccoli, peas, mums, and much more!

Red Cross Blood Drive.  11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., Integrity Health and Wellness, 2111 Wildwood Avenue.   After issuing an emergency call for blood and platelet donors in early July, the American Red Cross continues to face an emergency blood shortage. Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to give now. As a special thank you, all those who come to donate blood or platelets July 30 through Aug. 30, 2018, will receive a $5 Amazon Gift Card via email.
