USS Arizona Memorial Dedication.  1 PM.  The Jackson County Veterans Council invites the community to help dedicate a memorial to the USS Arizona.  The memorial includes a piece of the USS Arizona superstructure that was originally removed when the current structure was installed over the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor, HI.  This will be the only piece of the USS Arizona that will be given to the State of Michigan.  This memorial was made possible by the determined efforts of Stan Mazur.  Mr. Mazur is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a resident of Jackson County.  The dedication takes place on December 7th, 2021 – exactly 80 years after the horrific attack on the United States by Japan that led to the United States entering World War II.  The Michigan memorial to the USS Arizona includes the names of the 28 Michiganders serving as sailors and Marines that died on the USS Arizona.  The dedication will begin at the Cascades Baptist Church and will conclude at the USS Arizona Memorial that is located just across the street.  Cascades Baptist Church, 1012 West High Street and Cascades Falls Park.
