Jackson College Winter Music Festival at the Michigan Theatre.  Join Jackson College’s musical groups the Jackson Community Concert Band and the Jazzy Jets for a Winter Music Festival at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Michigan Theater, 124 N. Mechanic, Jackson.  Enjoy the musical stylings of Jackson College’s Jackson Community Concert Band and the Jazzy Jets as they perform a fun evening of music in this iconic venue. The Concert Band will perform favorites from “Aladdin,” a “Superhero Medley,” “Wind in the Willows” based on the beloved children’s book, “Sea Songs” and more. The Jazzy Jets will perform “The Chicken,” “My Favorite Things,” “Dani California,” and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band.” Both groups are under the direction of music instructor Dan Bickel.  The concert begins at 7 p.m. and will be free; an optional suggested donation of $3 per person will benefit the Michigan Theater’s ongoing restoration and improvements.  Jackson College has a variety of musical ensembles for students and community members. Two’s Day Art Exhibition.  As a nod to the Universe’s punny coincidence of 2/22/22 falling on a Tuesday, we put together the Two’s Day Art Exhibition.  Explore two of the many sides of art with two floors of masterpieces created by 22 Michigan artists.1st floor, 2 years and up, family friendly.  2nd floor, “22 years and up”, exploring censorship in art.  This exhibit will run for 2 weeks, opening with an Artist Reception on 2/22/22 from 6:22p to 8:22p and running daily thereafter from 9:22am – 6:22pm.  Art 634, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.

Free Tax Help.  Now through early April, you can stop by the Carnegie Library computer lab for free help preparing your 2021 tax returns on the following days and times:

Mondays: 4-7 PM

Tuesdays: 1-4 PM

Wednesdays: 1-7 PM

Saturdays: 10 AM – 1 PM
