Redistricting Public Hearing.  6 PM. American 1 Event Center, Keeley Park, 128 W. Ganson Street, Downtown Jackson.  Under the constitutional amendment, commissioners are obligated to hold at least 10 public hearings prior to releasing a draft set of maps. Additional hearings are required after draft maps are released.   The first Public Hearing is tonight.  Michigan voters in November 2018 chose a new way to map out the state’s federal and legislative political districts.  The Redistricting Commission invites all interested citizens to attend.

Jackson StoryWalk:  Choose Your Own Adventure.  Jackson District Library.  Take a walk in your neighborhood while enjoying a story with StoryWalk®! This year, our featured story is Your Grandparents are Ninjas by Anson Montgomery. This program is perfect for families to drop by at their leisure and follow the story signs that will be present at all locations:  Ella Sharp Museum, Dahlem Center Playscape, Concord Falling Waters Trailhead, Clark Lake Spirit Trail.  Now through May 31.   This year’s book is a “Choose Your Own Adventure.” Because of this, you will get to make your own decisions about what happens as the story progresses, and to experience several different endings. A storymap is available here to help you navigate.

Jackson County Student Art Show.  The Jackson County Student Art Show is presented online. Jackson Art Teachers are excited to celebrate the amazing artwork from the talented students from the Jackson area. The judging is now complete. Congratulations to all of the award winners! Thank you to the judges!   See the artwork from students from area schools.  The show includes public and private schools in Jackson County.
