Diabetes Path Online Workshop.  Diabetes Path (Personal Action Toward Health) is a 6-week workshop designed to help people with Diabetes improve their health & feel better.  It’s effectively designed for people with Diabetes Type I or II, Pre-Diabetes, and/or Caregivers for someone with diabetes.   DPATH teaches several tools for self-managing their health condition. People who attend learn how to face daily challenges of living with a chronic health condition while still having a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.   TUESDAYS* from 1:30-4:00pm, SEPTEMBER 1- October 6, 2020.  You will sign in through Zoom either on your home computer, ipad, or smart phone. 8th Annual Around the Park for Autism 5K Run/Walk Virtual Event.  September 12-19.  Jackson Autism Support Network brings help and hope to local families affected by autism.  Register online at www.JASN-MI.org or call 517-392-3093.

Henry Ford Allegiance Race to Health.  To protect the health and safety of participants, Henry Ford Allegiance Health will host its annual Race to Health as a virtual event in September 2020. Runners and walkers will choose a day within the range of September 12 through 26 to participate in the 5K run, 5K walk or 5-mile run individually. They will then report their times and be recognized for being part of this health-promoting community event.  Details on the virtual race and other run/walk events are available at HenryFord.com/Race. Registration is available online.  Anyone exercising away from home is encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask for their own protection and the safety of others.

Salvation Army Food Pantry.  The Salvation Army of Jackson County Food Pantry Hours:  Regular Pantry Hours are 10 am-noon and 1-2 pm Monday through Thursday.  Food Boxes are available every 30 days.*In an emergency food may be provided from 2-4:30 pm -please call ahead – 517-782-7185.  The Fresh Food Initiative (FFI) is every Monday from 9-10:30 am -through September 28. FFI is closed on Labor Day.  FFI is available to any one in need – please bring ID.
