Give Back Night for Walk to End Alzheimers.  4 PM to 8 PM at Culver’s.  Stop in and enjoy your favorite meal with family and friends and let the staff of Arbor Manor Rehab & Nursing Center serve you.  Culver’s Restaurant will donate 5 to 20% of the evenings proceeds toward the Jackson Walk to End Alzheimers.

Red Cross Blood Drive.  11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists West Clinic, 2136 Robinson Road, Jackson.  The American Red Cross continues to face an emergency blood shortage. Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to give now.

The Kiwanis Kids Series at The Michigan Theatre presents Paddington 2 on $1 Movie Day.  Showtimes are 11 AM and 2 PM.  Doors open one half hour before show and the balcony is open.  Kids Combo:  popcorn and small Pepsi:  $4.

Back to School Splash Bash at Nixon Park Waterpark.  Join us for the last party of the season.  Tickets include hot dogs, chips and a drink.  We will have a DJ and school supplies will be handed out.  $6 per ticket, limit 200 attendees.

The Jackson YMCA presents Stay Safe.    Learn the basics of staying safe not being a victim of violence.  Do you have a young adult heading off to college soon?  Live alone?  Travel often?  6 PM to 8 PM, Jackson YMCA Downtown Branch.  $5 for members, $10 for community.

Family Night at The Cascades.  Disney Night Extravaganza!!  Karen Kidder & Alibi Band will sing your favorite old and new Disney classics along with a sprinkling of surprises thrown in. Admission is $10.00 per family (up to 8 Family members).  Gates open at 7 PM.  Sponsored by Myers Family Little Caesars of Jackson and Jackson County Parks.

2018 Community Table Street Party celebrates The Jackson Community Orchard.  All are welcome, 5 PM, St. John’s UCC United Center corner of Mechanic and Biddle Steeets.  Music, food, bounce house, games, prizes, giveaways.

Free Vision and Hearing Clinic.  Michigan law requires a child to have a hearing and vision screening before they enter kindergarten.  The Jackson County Health Department provides FREE screenings that fulfill the requirement for school entry. Walk-in clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm through the end of August. The clinics are held at the Jackson County Health Department at 1715 Lansing Ave, Jackson, MI 49202, Second Floor, Room 246.

August STEM Wednesdays.  STEM Learning in August! Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Come to learn and have fun with us!  August 15: Squishy Circuits  Limited seating available, so registration is required. Call the Spring Arbor Branch, Jackson District Library at (517) 750-2030 today to save a spot!

Yoga at the Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Join us at the Meijer Branch! Stop by the Meijer Branch every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and Friday at 8:30 a.m. and let Jeanette Lamphere teach you yoga. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults.
