Cascades Fireworks Show.  The Independence Day Firework Show!  Gates open at 6pm.  $7 per person; $5 for children ages 4-12.  Entertainment by Brian Randall.  Fireworks at Dusk and the Grand Light Show to follow.  Sponsored by Myers Family Little Caesar’s of Jackson and Jackson County Parks.

Kiwanis Summer Kids Movie Series.  “Ozzy”.   A lovable dog must rely on some new friends to help him break out of canine prison and get back home to his owners.  Showtimes today:  11 AM and 2 PM.  Doors open one-half hour before film.  Pop and popcorn combo:   $4.  Admission just $1.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Nixon Water Park is open for the season. The Water Park will be open every day, except Sundays, through August 17th.  Hours of operation and swim sessions are:  MONDAY THRU THURSDAY, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 2:15 to 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. ($2 only). FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:15 to 5:15 p.m. Sundays:  CLOSED.  Admission for each session is $4.00, except the Monday thru Thursday evening session which is $2.00.

Hanover-Horton Fourth of July Celebration.  This 3-day event begins this evening with packet pickup (6 PM to 8 PM) for Thursday’s Firecracker 5K Run/Walk at Hanover Fire Station on Allen Street.  Family Street Dance/Karaoke on Spink Street, Hanover.  7PM to 11 PM.  Events continue Thursday and Sunday.

Collision Six – Beach Bar Patio Show.  Come dance to your favorite music at one of the most fun and picturesque spots in Michigan! Enjoy an awesome Pre Independence Day Party with Collision Six, food, drinks, and the Beach Bar, right on the shores of beautiful Clark Lake!  5:30 to 9:30 PM.
