$1 Summer Kids Movie Days:  Rock Dog 2: Rock Around the Park. June 17–19 (Tuesday–Thursday).  Showtimes: 11AM & 2PM with the doors opening 30 minutes before (10:30 AM and 1:30 PM).  Sponsored by Kiwanis & American 1 Credit Union.  Bodi and his band True Blue face new challenges, big choices, and the true cost of fame in this music-filled adventure. Snacks and drinks will be available at the concession stand. Home Builders Association of Jackson 70th Anniversary Picnic. 4 PM  to 7 PM.  Join us as we celebrate 70 years of serving the Jackson community with a special FREE picnic event for HBAJ members and the community. This event will honor the association’s rich history while looking forward to the future. The picnic will feature food, drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for networking, reconnecting with industry colleagues, and enjoying good company. This event is open to HBAJ members and the community, and we invite everyone to attend as we celebrate the impact of our organization and the home building industry in Jackson.  HBAJ Office – 1815 E. High St.  Join us for a free, family-friendly evening featuring: Live music by Six Strings and a Mike, Schlenkers/Fullers legendary burgers, Junk Yard Dog hot dogs,  Cornhole and lawn games for all ages.

Cascade Falls Family & Character Night.  6 PM.  Superhero Night!  Wednesdays at the Cascades are Family Night.  Live entertainment and featured characters all summer.  Tonight, your favorite superheroes will be making an appearance with music by Electric Flower Co.   Characters and entertainment weather permitting.  $10 admission per family (up to 8 members).  Entertainment sponsored by Alro Plastics.

The Rummage Shop at Chesterton Academy.  3 PM to 7 PM.  The last Wednesday evening to shop until August so don’t miss it! We are stocked with summer clothes, shoes, toys, non-breakable entertaining party ware and so much more! 9 rooms to shop with almost every category imaginable. Come sip some coffee while searching for your treasures. We’re located in the back where the driveway dead ends. Bring your friends and cash (we are cash only). Michigan Avian Experience.  3:30 PM.  All ages can get up close to some amazing birds with the Michigan Avian Experience! Participants will learn about our visiting birds’ adaptations and behaviors, as well as have the opportunity to feel feathers and bird bones. 40 Years in the Hood:  The Detroit Heidelberg Project Exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum.  Witness an extraordinary exhibition curated by renowned Detroit-based artist Tyree Guyton, whose work has transformed the art world and inspired communities for over 40 years. Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope. Thank you to the Charles Aymond Foundation and Arlo Steel for sponsoring 40 Years in the Hood: Detroit’s Heidelberg Project. Thanks to The Heidelberg Project for making this exhibit accessible to Jackson’s youth, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities.
