Jackson School of the Arts’ Kids Create Preschool Open House.  The early years are a key point in cognitive development, a time to nurture curiosity & develop self-confidence. ManuTech Pitch Event.  3 PM to 5 PM.  This is a Hybrid (In-Person and Virtual) Pitch Contest on March 2, 2022. The competition will highlight startups and entrepreneurs creating innovative physical products and/or hardware right here in Michigan! Teams will have a chance to compete in a pitch competition to win + $10,000  Reserve your seats here at our pitch event at ManuTech now!   Lean Rocket Lab, 133 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

Hidden History: Brought to Light Exhibit.  HIDDEN HISTORY:  BROUGHT TO LIGHT.  Now through March 4.  SAU Ganton Art Gallery.  Spring Arbor University’s Ganton Art Gallery is hosting a display that honors the lives of people who contributed to Jackson County in extraordinary ways; in particular our County’s connection to the Underground Railroad and abolitionist movements.  Local book author and historian, Linda Hass (HAHS) has researched and collaborated with the Jackson County MI Historical Society, Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild and others to bring new life to overlooked stories.  The exhibit art and illustrated scenes show escape routes for freedom seekers and success stories of how they established themselves in Jackson by becoming business owners.  Ganton Art Gallery, SAU campus, on M-60 in Spring Arbor.

Free Tax Help.  Now through early April, you can stop by the Carnegie Library computer lab for free help preparing your 2021 tax returns on the following days and times:

Mondays: 4-7 PM

Tuesdays: 1-4 PM

Wednesdays: 1-7 PM

Saturdays: 10 AM – 1 PM
