Jackson YMCA Thanksgiving School Out Day.  No school the day before Thanksgiving? Y5-5th grade students can join us for a fun day!  We will:  Play Thanksgiving Bingo,  Create a Thanksgiving-themed key charm,  Enjoying fun activities in the gym,  Go swimming.  Please bring lunch, a water bottle, a swimsuit/towel and wear closed-toed shoes.  Cost: $39 Members; $49 Community.  Call 517.782.0537 or register at www.JacksonYMCA.org.

The Downtown Sound-Thanksgiving Eve Live Music Extravaganza.  We’re taking over the Michigan Theatre the night before Thanksgiving with the funkiest local music acts Jackson has to offer.  7 pm – TBA, 8 pm – Seymour Black, 9 pm – Wes Maharas, 10 pm – Jacktown Hustlers, 11 pm – Big L and Code Blu.  The cover is $9 with one drink ticket presale, $10 at the door.  Tickets: https://bit.ly/downtownsound21.  18+ welcome, 21+ for alcohol service.  Doors at 6 pm.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Prince and Princess Paint Party.  10 AM.  The Book Cottage.  Bring your Prince/Princess to this fun Paint Party where they will get their choice of painting a crown ceramic box or a castle. We will have some other little goodies for them also. The Royal fun awaits. You can stay with them or have fun shopping at The Book Cottage. Remember to dress in paint-friendly clothes. Thanksgiving Eve at Grand River Brewery.  Thanksgiving Eve! That’s tonight and we have a Holiday Warm Up Party!   Join us from 6 pm to close for $3 pints in the barrel/event room for the following beers:  Dead Man’s Hand 2019, Dead Man’s Hand: Maple 2020, Dead Man’s Hand: Marshmallow 2021, Hazy Day Daydream: Sour Watermelon, Wisdom of the Woods- Elderberry Sour, Planet Grapefruit, IEP IPA: Apricot. Ogma Brewing Company Soft Opening Weekend.  3 PM.  The long-awaited opening of Ogma Brewing Co. has arrived! Please join us on Wednesday (11/24), Friday (11/26) and Saturday (11/27) of this week to help break in what we hope is your new favorite spot.  The tap line-up will feature: Hesher Sweat (American Lager),  Doom Claw (IPA),  TRI-21 (Double NE IPA), Sabro Cadabra (Pale Ale),  Hellion Wølv (Dark Lager),  Four Horsemen (Imperial Bourbon Barrel Stout).  We will also feature a nonalcoholic IPA and NEIPA from Athletic Brewing Co. in addition to some other beverages.  This weekend will be drinks only as we wrap up our kitchen for the official Grand Opening in December. Thanksgiving Eve Bash with Special Guest Eddie Crouch.  8 PM. Join FLYDE for a night of classic rock and roll as they welcome special guest and FLYTE founder Eddie Crouch who will be performing with the band.  This is a must-see! Michigan Center Eagles, 302 Fifth Street, Michigan Center.

ARTitude.  ARTitude is an annual pop-up holiday marketplace and is now open at the Masonic Temple, 145 W. Cortland in Downtown Jackson. We offer a booth-style marketplace for artists to display and sell their work throughout the Holiday season. The marketplace will be open for business through Friday, December 24th. Our regular hours will be Tuesdays through Saturdays 11a.-7p. and Sundays 11a.-4p.

Jackson Recreation Department Youth Basketball Signups.  The Jackson Recreation Department, in cooperation with Jackson Public Schools, present 4th, 5th, 6th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball League.  Game days are Saturdays from January 15 to February 19 at Hunt, Northeast, Parkside and Jackson High.  The registration fee is $15 (attend or live in JPS district) or $25 (outside JPS district.  Registration includes t-shirt.  Volunteer coaches are also needed interested in a fun, skill-building basketball league.  Register at your school or at the 5th floor, Jackson Recreation Department, City Hall, 161 W. Michigan Avenue, Jackson.  

Birthbrite Community Donation Drive-In.  The mission of Birthbrite is to deliver hope and joy to children in foster care.  Birthbrite stocks a wide variety of items for children and families in their foster care closet.  Items are then provided to foster care children and families free of charge.  Items are being accepted now through December 6.  Suggested donations (new items only please):  diapers, baby hygiene products, clothing, shoes, children’s underwear, children’s books, sensory/fidget toys, bath towels, toys.  Donations can be dropped off at Callaghan’s Coffee Cafe, 109 S. Main Street, Brooklyn;  Jaxon’s Playhouse, Summit Oaks Mall, Ferguson Road;  Doll n’ Burgers, 323 South Cooper, Jackson.
