The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library presents a Black History Month Film Series.  Join us for some great films all month long. Widescreen, comfortable seats and popcorn too! Thursday afternoons starting at 2 p.m. TodayLoving  (2016, PG-13) starring Ruth Negga, Joel Edgerton, and Will Dalton.  Eastern Branch, 3125 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson.

In honor of Black History Month, SAU Hearts Drama presents “The Old Settler,” a play by John Henry Redwood. “The Old Settler” will be shown in Spring Arbor University’s (SAU) Prop Shop  7:30 p.m. Tickets for students, staff, faculty and alumni are $5. General admission is $8.  Reserve seats by emailing your name, the date you would like to attend and the number of tickets you would like to reserve to dramatickets@arbor.edu.

Red Cross Blood Drive.  12 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., Calvary United Methodist Church, 925 Backus, Jackson.

Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening.  308 Brass Rail Bar & Grill   at 308 Prospect Street Jackson, MI at 12 P.M.  The Ribbon Cutting will take place at 12:30 P.M. Following the Ribbon Cutting, attendees can enjoy live music, free pool, and specials. Attendees can also enjoy drawings and giveaways and each prize is valued over $50.

Jackson City Councilman Freddie Dancy will conduct a Neighborhood Meeting at 7 PM at the Boos Center, Loomis Park.  Dancy, along with Director of Police and Fire Services Elmer Hitt and City Manager Patrick Burtch will discuss a variety of topics including upcoming street construction projects in the 2nd Ward and across the city of Jackson.  The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Argentine Tango Lessons. 8:30 pm- 9:30 pm.  3 week lessons in a variety of ballroom styles.  Lessons are in a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere. $42 per couple or $21 individual per session.  Jackson School of the Arts.  Call (517) 784-2389.  Email  info@jacksonarts.org.  634 N. Free Concert.  HOME.fm artist Good Little Giants will be in concert at Spring Arbor University’s Student Life Center  (lower level in the Cougar Den).  Cost: FREE (no tickets needed)  Time: 9:00 pm.  EXTRA: Free coffee and snacks.
