The Jackson Downtown Development Authority presents the Grand River Farmers Market, today from 8am to 2pm.  The market, featuring seasonal farmers and other vendors is at Grand River Marketplace, corner of Glick Highway and Mechanic Street in Downtown Jackson.

Yoga at the Carnegie Branch of the Jackson District Library.  Feeling stressed? Join us on every Tuesday at 5:30 PM for yoga at the Carnegie Branch. Newbies to certified Yogis welcome. Intended for adults.

Baker College is hosting a Job Fair, sponsored by Baker College and K-105.3 today from 11 am to 6 PM.  Employers, recruiters and businesses offering services that could help advance your career, all under one roof for one day.  Baker College Jackson Campus at 2800 Springport Road.

Law Enforcement Torch Run is hosting a 5k run/walk to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Michigan athletes. This is a fundraising event. Participants raising $250 or more will earn a polo shirt and participants raising $500 or more will earn a zip-up. A Jackson community fun run/walk 5k to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Michigan. The event starts at Kit Young Center. After the 5k there will be a pizza party with the students. $25, which includes entrance and a dry fit run shirt.  Registration and more information here.

Arbor Grove Meetinghouse Fall Series begins tonight with “Resources for Aging”, presented by Marce Wandell, Director, Jackson County Department on Aging.  The program runs from 7 to 8 PM at Arbor Grove Congregational Church, 2620 McCain Road, Jackson.  All seminars are free and open to the public.

The Milkweek Community, hosted by The Jackson Audubon Society.  Join us for our first monthly program of the new season! Through pictures and information, Don Drife will share with us about the vibrant natural community associated with milkweed plants. Refreshments at 6:30, program at 7:00.  Program held at Ella Sharp Museum.

Today at 6:30 PM, learn how to protect what you have through insurance and building long-term financial security. Intended for adults. This is part four of a seven-part series. Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity is now accepting donations of new and gently used Appliances, Furniture, Household Goods, Building Materials, Cabinets and Countertops for the Annual ReStore Yard Sale. The Sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jackson Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 251 W Prospect Street in Jackson.
