Boys basketball

Onsted 54, Columbia Central 38: Cody Richardson scored 13 points and Jordan Pewsey added 10 points for CCHS.  

Pennfield 60, Lumen Christi 48: Collin O’Neal scored 13 points in the contest for the Titans.  

Western 55, Northwest 37: The Panthers improved to 2-2 with the win while Northwest is 1-2 overall for the season. Kamerin Carter scored 22 points,  Cooper Johnston also finished in double figures with 11 points while Jacob Buckland chipped in with eight points for Western. “This was a really good game for our guys to bounce back after Tuesday’s loss,” WHS Coach Ryan Mulnix said.  “We played with a lot of energy and it is always fun to get a win over your rival especially on their court.” 

Girls basketball

Homer 51, Concord 43: Jamiya Rogers scored 13 points, Hadley Kettwich added 11 points, and Karlee Gamet finished with 10 points for Concord. 

Leslie 60, Jackson 46: The Vikings trailed 29-14 at halftime in the home game.   

Athens 44, Jackson Christian 2  

Pennfield 48, Lumen Christi 38 

Western 54, Northwest 35: Alyna Lewis scored 21 points and Hillary Griffin and Reece Hitt each scored 10 points for Western (6-0). Northwest (3-2) was led by Layne Sleight with 14 points.   

Wrestling

Springport at Grass Lake Team Invitational: Sam Edie (119), Matt Rankin (125) and Jack Reid (189) earned wins for the Warriors. Grass Lake currently only has three wrestlers participating on the mat. Springport defeated Blissfield (39-30) and Chelsea (45-21). David Becker (125) and Matt Riehle (171) earned a pair of pins in those matches. 

Boys Bowling

Grass Lake 24, Homer 6: Clayton Weir rolled a 462 series and Ben Harris rolled a 425 for Grass Lake. The Warriors are 6-0 on the season. 

Hockey

Lumen Christi 6, Freeland-Nouvel 2: The Titans won the opening round of the tournament in Big Rapids. Kavin Kennedy scored a pair of goals and single goals were scored by Brett Terry, Nash Hanchett, Josh DuMont, and Nolan Varner. Matt Hoop earned the win in net for the Titans. LCCHS will face Sault St. Blue Devils in the championship game Saturday at 8 p.m.
