Volleyball
Michigan Center def. Leslie: The Cardinals opened the season with a 3-0 home win over Leslie. Michigan Center won 25-14, 25-14, and 25-13. Sam Wynn tallied 14 kills, Kaylee Johnson finished with 19 digs and four aces, and Jordyn Mees finished with 16 assists for the Cardinals.
Boys soccer
Manchester 3, Columbia Central 2: Derek Sanders and Nolan Schiel scored goals for Columbia Central. CCHS goalie Logan Cripps stopped 18 shots against the Flying Dutchmen. Columbia Central is now 2-1-1 on the season.
Grass Lake 3, Leslie 2: Grass Lake improved to 2-0 with the Warriors winning its second one-goal victory.
Jackson Christian 3, Stockbridge 1: The Royals improved to 1-1 on the season with the non-conference win.
Onsted 3, Northwest 1: The Wildcats led 2-0 at halftime before the Mounties cut the lead with the first goal of the second half. Zander Brezvai tallied eight saves in goal for Onsted (1-0). Northwest falls to 0-3 on the season with the home loss.
Girls golf
Jackson at Tecumseh Invitational: Jackson High School finished fifth with 433. Natalie Kulka of Jackson earned medalist honors with a 79 and teammate Felicia Huffman finished tied for eighth with a 101.
Independent Golf League at Lenawee Christian: Columbia Central finished second (204) and Concord was fourth (263) at the Independent Golf League event hosted by Lenawee Christian. Logan Bentley of Columbia Central shot a 38 earning medalist honors and Kelsey Fausz tallied a 53. Faith Moore shot a 54 and Hannah Stimer carded a 55 for Concord.

Northwest 8, Hillsdale 0: The Mounties opened its new tennis complex with an easy win over Hillsdale.
