Girls basketball

Northwest 65, Jackson 36: Three players scored in double figures as Northwest High School earned its first win of the season. Ashley Weller scored 19 points, Layne Sleight added 16 points, and Mara Mitchell had 11 points for Northwest (1-1). Jackson (0-2) was led by Keiyera Johnson with 10 points and Kennedy Lee with six points.


Columbia Central 48, Jonesville 18: Zoie Bamm recorded her 1,000th point in the win for CCHS. Bamm finished with 22 points and Tori Austin finished with 10 points for the Golden Eagles (1-1). 

Homer 47, Hanover-Horton 33: Morgan Kuhl scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked five shots for the Comets. Maggie Soper added eight points and snared five rebounds for Hanover-Horton (1-1 overall). 

Colon 38, Jackson Christian 29:  Kayley McCollum had 13 points and Maggie Hollowood added seven points for Jackson Christian (0-2).  

Lakewood 54, Michigan Center 46: The Cardinals fell to 0-2 with a loss to Lakewood in the GLAC/Cascades Conference Challenge at Olivet College. Cecilia Scaife scored 13 points and Julia Reynolds added 12 for Michigan Center. 

Haslett 54, Western 43: The Panthers fell to 0-2 with a non-conference loss at home Friday night. 

Grass Lake 42, Leslie 33: The Warriors earned its first in of the season during the GLAC/Cascades Conference Challenge at Olivet College. 


Lumen Christi 3, Kalamazoo Eagles 0: Nash Hanchett, Daniel Brady, and Josh DuMont scored for the Titans. Zach Jaakota earned the win in net for Lumen Christi (2-0).
