Boys basketball

Vandercook Lake 70, Addison 52: Vandercook Lake earns at least a share of the Cascades Conference title with the win. The Jayhawks are 17-1 on the season. 

Columbia Central 60, Blissfield 58: The Golden Eagles are 12-6 with the victory.   

Napoleon 71, Hanover-Horton 48: Zack Johnson scored 22 points and Trent Jester scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Napoleon (16-2). The Comets are 9-9 overall with the loss. 

Concord 56, Quincy 31: The Yellow Jackets are 13-4 with the win. 

Pittsford 40, Jackson Christian 21: The Royals are 5-13 overall for the season. 

Northwest 53, Marshall 29: The Mounties are 8-10 overall following the win. 

Jonesville 63, Springport 38: The Spartans remain winless with a home loss to Jonesville. 

Lincoln King 68, Jackson 61: Jackson fell to 8-11 with the loss while Lincoln King is 13-4 on the season. 

Michigan Center 70, East Jackson 26: Daylen Hinkle scored 24 points and Carter Kosmet added 15 points for Michigan Center (12-6). Nikolas Kosmet dished eight assists and tallied six steals for the Cardinals. East Jackson is 4-14 on the season.  

Western 68, Lumen Christi 42: Kamerin Carter led Western with 20 points, including four 3-point baskets.  Carter Martin chipped in with eight points while Cole Wilcox finished with seven points for Western (8-10). The Titans conclude the regular season with a 3-17 record. 

Girls basketball

Columbia Central 54, Hudson 12: Zoie Bamm scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as the Golden Eagles earned the LCAA title. Tadassa Brown scored 15 points and nine blocked shots and Anna McCollum added 11 points for CCHS (15-4). It is the fourth consecutive league title for the Golden Eagles. 

Manchester 42, Napoleon 32: Momo Hampton and Maggie Beer scored nine points apiece for Napoleon (7-13). 

Western 66, Lumen Christi 14: The Panthers won another Interstate-8 Conference title with the win. Western scored the first 31 points in the contest and led 45-6 at halftime.

Marshall 52, Northwest 43: The loss breaks a five-game winning streak by the Mounties (14-6).

MHSAA regional bowling tournaments

Feb. 25 (teams)

Division 1 at Canton: Jackson High School finished 17th at Superbowl in Canton with a team score of 2,794. Teams bowled six Baker games and three individual games by five bowlers. The top three teams advance to the MHSAA state finals. 

Division 2 at Vicksburg: Northwest High School won the boys’ Division 2 team regional at Vicksburg by more than 150 points. The Mounties scored 3,893 to defeat Mason (3,727) and Three Rivers (3,708). Western finished 10th as a team scoring 3,389. 

Division 3 at Niles: Napoleon finished third earning a state qualifying spot. The Pirates finished with a total of 3,451 pins to advance to the MHSAA state finals next week at JAX 60. Columbia Central finished seventh (3,400) and Michigan Center was 13th (2727). 

Division 4 at JAX 60 hosted by Hanover-Horton: Grass Lake won the Division 4 team regional at JAX 60 scoring 3,894 pins. Bronson was second (3,443) and Vandercook Lake took the third and final qualifying spot (3,440). East Jackson tied for sixth place (3,332), Lumen Christi took eighth place (3,326), and Hanover-Horton placed ninth (3,315).  

Girls Bowling

MHSAA regional bowling tournaments

Division 1 at Canton: Jackson High School finished 13th at Superbowl in Canton with a team score of 2,605. Teams bowled six Baker games and three individual games by five bowlers. The top three teams advance to the MHSAA state finals. 

Division 2 at Vicksburg: Western High School finished 11th (2,381) and Northwest was 12th (1,893) at the Division 2 team district at Vicksburg. 

Division 3 at Niles: Napoleon finished fourth (3,019), Michigan Center finished eighth (2,932), and Columbia Central was ninth (2,886). Niles Brandywine, Jonesville, and Olivet earned the three qualifying spots in the Division 3 team regional at Niles. 

Division 4 at JAX 60 hosted by Hanover-Horton: Grass Lake also won the girls’ Division 4 team regional (3,427) and Lumen Christi was third (3,147). Both will advance to the MHSAA state finals at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek next week.

Division 3 at Niles: Coloma, Columbia Central, Comstock, Constantine, Hillsdale, Hopkins, Jonesville, Lansing Catholic, Michigan Center, Napoleon, Niles Brandywine, Olivet, Parchment, Quincy, South Haven, and Stockbridge. 

Division 4 at JAX 60 hosted by Hanover-Horton: Addison, Bronson, Burr Oak, East Jackson, Grass Lake, Hanover-Horton, Homer, Hudson, Kalamazoo Christian, Kalamazoo Hackett, Lumen Christi, Morenci, Pittsford, Sand Creek, Schoolcraft, and Vandercook Lake.
