Napoleon 15, Grass Lake 0: Nick Marienfeld was the JTV player of the game with a touchdown on offense and a fumble recovery on defense for the Pirates. Brendan Helfrich scored the other touchdown for the Pirates. Helfrich and Max Gamez finished with seven tackles apiece and Gamez recorded two sacks for Napoleon. The Warriors were shutout in a game for the first time since 2004. Napoleon improves to 5-1 on the season while Grass Lake is 1-5. 

NorthPointe 48, Concord 26:  Tyler Carpenter ran for two scores and threw for another but it wasn’t enough as Concord fell on homecoming night. Carpenter connected with Mekhi Winfield for a 26-yard touchdown pass and Tristan Pranger also scored for the Yellow Jackets. Carpenter finished with more than 200 yards of offense on the night. Concord is now 2-4 on the season. 

Hanover-Horton 51, East Jackson 6: Aiden Weir of Hanover-Horton rushed for 128 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in the Comets’ win. Graham Gumper also scored three times for HH on only eight carries. Austin Tingley threw for 97 yards and one touchdown pass to Landon Roberts for the Trojans. Hanover-Horton remains alive for a playoff spot with a 3-3 record while EJ falls to 0-6. 

Western 13, Coldwater 7: Landon Heavy scored on a 6-yard touchdown run and Nolan Wheeler hit Caden Oliver with an 8-yard touchdown pass for the Panthers. Wheeler finished the night with 112 passing yards while Oliver rushed for nearly 100 yards for WHS. Oliver and Heavy also led the Panthers in tackles on the defensive side of the football. The defense held Coldwater to just over 200 yards of offense on the night. Western improves to 4-2 on the season with the win. 

Jackson 44, Tecumseh 41: Jackson High School rushed for nearly 400 yards on the night. Tavion Tanner scored three times and ran for 150 yards. Dectrick Reed ran for 144 yards with one touchdown and Gibson Drummond scored twice for Jackson. The Vikings remain alive for a playoff spot with a 3-3 record. 

Harper Creek 33, Lumen Christi 14: Colin Morrow scored on a 1-yard run and John Ganton added another score for the Titans on a 2-yard pass from Teddy Ahlers for Lumen Christi. Ahlers threw for 166 yards with a majority of those passes (10) going to Cooper Keene who finished with 111 receiving yards. Lumen Christi falls to 5-1 on the season with the loss. 

Dundee 43, Columbia Central 0: The Golden Eagles fell to 0-6 with the road loss. 

Michigan Center 18, Manchester 13: Kaydin Hiland scored on touchdown runs of 84, 23, and 31 yards for Michigan Center. The senior scored the last touchdown with three minutes remaining in the game giving the Cardinals a lead. Hiland finished the night with 240 rushing yards. Manchester drove the ball down to the Cardinal’s 12 yard line and had two chances to score in the final 14 seconds but MCHS held on for the homecoming night win. Michigan Center improves to 5-1 on the season while Manchester is 2-4. MCHS Coach Troy Allen becomes the school’s winningest football coach with his 62nd victory.    

Marshall 49, Northwest 14: Isaiah Grybauskas threw for more than 116 yards and rushed for 89 yards for Northwest. J.R. Morrow and Nolen Novak scored on touchdown passes from Grybauskas. The Mounties are 1-5 on the season with the loss. 

Springport 69, Quincy 56: Springport improved to 2-4 with the win. 

Oakland Christian 36, Vandercook Lake 24: Vandercook Lake is now 1-5 on the season. 

Boys tennis

Interstate-8 Conference final: Western High School won the conference tournament with 56 points. Lumen Christi finished third with 45 points and Northwest was sixth with 39 in very close competitions. Ryan Perkin of Western went 2-0 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers. Nash Hanchett of Lumen Christi was 3-0 at No. 2 singles.
