Lumen Christi 3, Hastings 2: The Titans lost game one but rebounded by winning three of the next four games 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, and 15-10. Lumen Christi pulled away in game five as Courtney Kalahar served six consecutive points with the Titans leading 7-6. Kalahar finished the night with 12 kills and Ashley Hilderley tallied 13 kills for the Titans. Camy Crandall recorded 22 assists and four aces for Lumen Christi. 

Western 3, Pennfield 0: The Panthers improved to 3-0 in the Interstate-8 Conference with a 25-14, 25-9, and 25-15 win over Pennfield. Lilli Luma and Delaney Cole each recorded 10 kills, Brynn Rogers dished 41 assists, and Hannah Pratt finished with 18 digs for Western. The Panthers are 12-1-1 and face undefeated Marshall at home next Wednesday in an I-8 showdown. 

 Harper Creek 3, Northwest 2

Teja Kapp recorded 18 kills and Jillian Osterberg finished with 33 assists for Northwest. 


Northwest wins district title: The Northwest High School equestrian team will also represent the area Oct. 1-3 at the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association regional tournament in Mason. The top two teams in each district advance to the regional tournament. Members of the NWHS squad are Skylar Tucker, Kaitlynn Sommer, Rachel Keeler, Teryn Berkeypile and Ava Conner, according to the school’s Facebook page.
