Division 1 at Jackson

Lakeview 15, Jackson 2: The Vikings finish the season with a 4-13 record.  

Northwest 11, B.C. Central 1: Alex Thrun finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Mounties. Will Herman and Lincoln Keathley combined for a two-hitter on the mound.

District final: Lakeview 14, Northwest 2: Lakeview scored six times in the first inning in the final. Alex Thrun finished with a hit and an RBI for Northwest (16-14).

Division 2 at Coldwater

Coldwater 4,  Harper Creek 2

Marshall 5, Western 4 (10 innings): The Redhawks scored one run in the top of the 10th inning to pull out the win. Caden Oliver finished with two hits and an RBI for Western (19-10).

District final: No score posted at 7:45 a.m.  

Division 3 at Grass Lake

Grass Lake 13, Stockbridge 0: Blake Stark and Colling Knight combined for 11 strikeouts and pitched a no-hitter in the district opener. Luke Guthrie finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs for Grass Lake (25-9).

Leslie 6, Dansville 0

District final: Grass Lake 4, Leslie 1: Grass Lake will host Hudson Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Division 3 regional semifinal. It is the Warriors’ first district title since 2008. Brayden Lape struck out 12 batters on the mound for Grass Lake. 

Division 3 at Hanover-Horton

Homer 7, Quincy 0

Jonesville 5, Hillsdale 0

District final: Jonesville 5, Homer 3

Division 3 at Napoleon

Columbia Central 22,  Michigan Center 2: Blake Hoskins finished with three hits and three RBIs for the Golden Eagles. CCHS finished with 19 hits in the contest. Michigan Center finishes the season with a 9-14 overall record.

Lumen Christi 6, Napoleon 0: Gabe King pitched a complete game for LCCHS with 10 strikeouts and only one hit allowed. Cooper Cumberworth finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Titans. Grant Bradley had the only hit for Napoleon (14-18-1).

District final: Lumen Christi 6, Columbia Central 4: Cooper Cumberworth finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Titans. Tyler Ladd finished with three hits and three RBIs for CCHS (14-22-1). Lumen Christi (25-6) advances to the Division 3 regional semifinal at Hanover-Horton Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Jonesville.  

Division 3 at Vermontville Maple Valley

Lansing Catholic 7, Springport 3: Gabe Rainey and Marshal Shoemaker each finished with a hit and RBI for Springport (4-27-1).

Division 1 at Loy Norrix

Portage Central 15, Loy Norrix 0

B.C. Lakeview 20, Jackson 3: Amariae Hicks finished with a hit and RBI for Jackson (1-19).

Division 2 at Eaton Rapids

Western 6, Northwest 2: Shaunicy Hendricks and Nicole Wilson each finished with two hits and an RBI for Western. Ari Good finished with two hits and two RBIs for Northwest (21-16-1).

Eaton Rapids 20, Charlotte 0

District final: Western 4, Eaton Rapids 3: Western High School (26-11) advances to the Division 2 regional semifinal at Mason, Saturday at noon against Lansing Waverly.

Division 3 at Hanover-Horton

Lumen Christi 18,  Hillsdale 0: Bella Wrozek pitched a three-inning no-hitter with five strikeouts for the Titans. Bree Okoniewski finished with two hits and an RBI for the Titans.

Hanover-Horton 5,  Jonesville 3: Hanover-Horton scored three times in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Dani Riggs finished with two hits and three RBIs for Hanover-Horton.

District final: Hanover-Horton 13, Lumen Christi 1: Alexyn DuBois finishes with 13 strikeouts on the mound for the Comets. Halle Swihart tallied four hits at the plate for Hanover-Horton. Bree Okoniewski finished with two hits for Lumen Christi (13-20). Hanover-Horton (24-11) advanced to the Division 3 regional semifinal at Onsted Saturday against Grass Lake at 10 a.m.

Division 3 at Clinton

Clinton 24, Columbia Central 2: Brooke-Lynn Hills finished with one hit and an RBI for Columbia Central (16-21).

Bronson 11, Quincy 0

Homer 5, Springport 2: Brenna Crittenden finished with two hits for Springport (22-10).

Track and Field State finals

Division 1 at Rockford High School: Jackson High School failed to score in the Division 1 state final at Rockford High School. Keiyera Johnson finished 17th in the 100-meter hurdles (16.14) and 17th in the 300-meter hurdles (47.98). The top eight in each event earn all-state medals. 

Division 2 at Forest Hills Eastern: Western High School finished with six points in the boys’ meet and the Panthers scored .17 points in the girls’ event. Brennan Faber finished fourth in the shot put (51-6.25) and Joshua Veneziano was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles (40.54) to earn all state honors. Kayda Herrick of Western tied for eight place (4-11) in the high jump to earn all-state honors.

Division 3 at Kent City High School: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished fifth in the girls’ event with 31 points, Columbia Central tied for 14th with 13 points, Napoleon tied for 20th with 10 points, Hanover-Horton finished 38th scoring four points ,and Grass Lake was 45th scoring three points. Madison Osterberg won a state title in the 1,600-meter run (4:55) and Alyssa Budd of Napoleon won the long jump (17-11.5) at the state final. Other Jackson County runners earned all-state honors (top eight in an event) were: Rylie Aylesworth of Columbia Central who finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (12.56) and second in the 200-meter dash (25.75) with both times being personal bests for her; Madison Osterberg of Lumen Christi was also second in the 800-meter run (2:13.20) and fifth in the 3,200-meter run (11:21); Grass Lake finished seventh in the 400-meter relay (51.21) with a team of Layne Terry, Makenna Horodeczny, Kate Starkey, and Grace Bullock; Lumen Christi was eighth in the 1,600-meter relay (4:14) with Reese Kelly, Sydney Fazekas, Layla Lopez, and Macy Fazekas and second in the 3,200-meter relay with Lopez, Fazekas, Fazekas, and Osterberg; Ereka Risner of Grass Lake finished eighth in the shot put (35-10); and Kaytie Warren of Hanover-Horton finished fifth in the long jump (16-0). In the boys’ event, Napoleon finished 13th with 16.5 points, Hanover-Horton tied for 17th place with 11 points, Springport was 33rd scoring six points, and Lumen Christi was 54th scoring three points. Holden Van Poppel of Napoleon claimed a state title in the 110-meter hurdles (14.48 seconds). Others earning all-state honors were: Graham Gumper of Hanover-Horton was fifth in the 100-meter dash (11.05) and Alex Pastoriza of Lumen Christi finished sixth (11.10); Rogan Melling of Hanover-Horton was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (9:46); Eli Dyer of Springport placed third in the 300-meter hurdles (40.68); Napoleon was fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:31.37) with Haden McLain, Lionel Campbell, Gavrik Belcourt, and Cooper Wyers; Hanover-Horton placed seventh in the 3,200-meter relay (8:19) with Zach Hassenzahl, Rogan Melling, Owen Brown, and Austin Brown; and DeVonta Habern of Napoleon finished tied for seventh in the high jump (6-3).

Division 4 at Baldwin MS at Hudsonville: Concord High School tied for sixth in the boys event with 35 points and East Jackson tied for 54th place scoring one point. Concord won the 400-meter relay (43.72) with Javion Taylor, Mekhi Wingfield, Tylend Allen, and Tyreke Brown. Others earning all-state honors (top eight) were: Adair Artis of Concord was fifth in the 800-meter run (1:59.92); Michael Allen of East Jackson placed eighth in the 3,200-meter run (10:14); Concord finished fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:31.71) with Allen, Brown, Taylor, and Wingfield and second in the 1,600-meter relay (3:29.4) with Taylor, Wingfield, Artis, and Isaac Waldron; and Wingfield finished second in the long jump (22-5.75) with a personal best jump. East Jackson finished tied for 36th with six points and Concord scored two points good for 51st place in the girls event. Athletes earning all-state honors were: Cieara Barrett of Concord finished seventh in the 800-meter run (2:27.15) and Addisyn Rudd of East Jackson finished third in the pole vault (9-9) a personal best for the senior.

District Soccer Finals

Division 3 at Columbia Central

District final: Quincy 3, Columbia Central 1: Columbia Central finished the season with a 15-3-2 record.

Division 4 at Lumen Christi

District final: Lumen Christi 5,  Lansing Christian 2: Khiya Hunt, Codi Ruge, Paige Lefere, Paityn Petito, and Camy Crandall scored goals for the Titans. Lumen Christi (11-10-2) advances to the Division 4 regional semifinal against Manchester Tuesday at Madison Heights Bishop Foley beginning at 5 p.m.

Tennis State Finals

Division 3 Western at University of Michigan Tennis Center: Western High School tied for 15th place scoring four points. The Panthers received wins by Bella Brushaber at No. 1 singles, Ali Carmody at No. 3 singles and Salena Vo and Leslie Kinder who got a first round win at No. 4 doubles.

Division 4 Columbia Central, Lumen Christi: The Titans finished 10th with 11 points while CCHS failed to score in the state finals at Kalamazoo. Maggie Page finished third at No. 1 singles and Genevieve Brawner was third at No. 3 singles for the Titans.
