Baseball

Napoleon 13, Addison 1: Grant Bradley earned the pitching win for the Pirates with eight strikeouts. Jason Negus had two hits for Napoleon. Zac Conley had one hit and knocked in the only run for Addison. 

Grass Lake 13, Manchester 0: Brayden Lape scattered two hits and struck out eight batters in five innings on the mound for Grass Lake. Jacob Collins had two hits and knocked in four runs and Matt Gould finished with three RBIs for Grass Lake (10-7). 

East Jackson 7, Vandercook Lake 6: Bryce Fowler had two hits and Landon Roberts and Brian Hammer finished with two RBIs apiece for East Jackson. The Jayhawks scored five times in the top of the seventh to tie the game, but East Jackson scored in the bottom of the inning. Kyle Cavins recorded four hits and knocked in two runs for the Jayhawks. 

Michigan Center 5, Hanover-Horton 2: Allen Whitmill had three hits and Joe Poynter earned the pitching win for Michigan Center (7-6-1). Hunter Fox had a pair of hits for Hanover-Horton. 

Michigan Center 7, Hanover-Horton 7: The Cardinals scored five times in the last two innings forcing a tie game. Allen Whitmill had three hits and knocked in two runs and Noah Mast finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Cardinals. Hunter Fox and Luke Soper each collected three hits in the contest for Hanover-Horton (10-5-1). 

Northwest 15, Hastings 0: Will Herman gave up one hit in three innings, striking out three batters for the Mounties. Koby Castle and Gage Race each had two hits in the contest for Northwest (11-5-2). 

Northwest 10, Hastings 0: Koby Castle had three RBIs and Ethan Anspaugh, Alex Thrun, and Trey Collard each collected two hits for Northwest. Thrun earned the pitching win for Northwest, scattering five hits in five innings and striking out three batters.  

Softball

Napoleon 7, Addison 6: Kaylee Smith knocked in the winning run for the Pirates with a double. Smith and Karson Fairbanks each finished with three hits and one RBI. 

Napoleon 18, Addison 0: Raye Burke earned the pitching win for the Pirates, striking out five batters in four innings. Elisse Omey and Karson Fairbanks each finished with four hits and Fairbanks knocked in four runs for Napoleon (19-3). 

Grass Lake 13, Manchester 6: Olivia Turner finished with three hits – including a home run – and knocked in four runs for Grass Lake. Katelyn Postuma finished with four hits and two RBIs for Grass Lake (17-3-1). 

Grass Lake 7, Manchester 0: Laney Brown earned the shutout for Grass Lake, striking out four batters in five innings pitched. Bree Salts and Katelyn Postuma provided the firepower with home runs in the contest. Postuma finished the game with four RBIs. 

East Jackson 19, Vandercook Lake 3: Emily Uyttenhove had two hits and knocked in four runs and Bree Baxter and Savanna Curey each had a pair of hits and knocked in two runs for East Jackson. Alivia Smith recorded a hit and knocked in a run for Vandercook. 

East Jackson 13, Vandercook Lake 3: Emily Uyttenhove and Savanna Curey each had three hits in the contest. Curey earned the pitching win with seven strikeouts in five innings pitched for East Jackson (13-16). Kylinn Lagow finished with a pair of hits for Vandercook Lake. 

Michigan Center 11, Hanover-Horton 3: The Cardinals had home runs by Mady Whipple and Eli Knoll in the road win. Hannah McKee earned the pitching win for the Cardinals with five strikeouts in seven innings pitched.  Amierah Jarrett had a pair of hits for Hanover-Horton (11-12) in the contest. 

Hanover-Horton 23, Michigan Center 12: The Comets gained revenge in game two, scoring 11 times in the first inning. Kenna Easter and Alana VanEpps hit home runs for Hanover-Horton in the slugfest. VanEpps, Mayson Scally, and Alexis Flint all finished with four RBIs for the Comets. Mady Whipple finished with four RBIs for Michigan Center (3-13). 

Northwest 16, Hastings 0: Core Pilaczynski threw a three-inning no-hitter for the Mounties, striking out six batters. Chloe Hinkley had a pair of hits in the contest for Northwest. 

Northwest 15, Hastings 0: Nevaeh Ingram also pitched a three-inning no-hitter for the Mounties, striking out eight batters. Grace Pilaczynski and Katelyn Kennedy each had two hits and two RBIs for Northwest (23-1). 

Monroe 21, Jackson 4: Kaitlyn Proevski had a hit and knocked in two runs for Jackson. 

Boys track and field

Columbia Central 69, Onsted 68: Jacob Walker won the 1,600-meter run (4:26) and the 800-meter run (2:11) and Ethan Stewart took first place finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.87) and the 200-meter dash (24.27) for the Golden Eagles. CCHS won the 1,600-meter relay to pull out the team win. 

Concord at Quincy: Concord defeated Quincy, 85-51, and Jonesville 75-62 at Quincy on Wednesday. Malachi Boyd won the 100-meter dash (11.74) and the 200-meter dash (23.88), Jonathan Mikovits won the 1,600-meter run (4:52) and the 3,200-meter run (10:52), and Mekhi Wingfield won the high jump (5-8) and the long jump (19-10.5) for Concord. The Yellow Jackets earned the wins by taking first in three of the four relays.  

Bronson 82, Springport 42: Dylan Sanford won the 110-meter hurdles (18.5) and the 300-meter hurdles (46.1) and Gage Rohde won the 100-meter dash (11.6) and the high jump (6-0) for Springport. 

Girls track and field

Onsted 93, Columbia Central 39: Rylie Aylesworth won the 100-meter dash (13.5) and the 200-meter dash (28.18) for the Golden Eagles. Hope Wilkes won the 1,600-meter run (5:58) for CCHS.  

Concord at Quincy: Quincy defeated Concord, 118-17, and Jonesville defeated the Yellow Jackets, 87-27. Rylee Weeks won the 1,600-meter run (6:00) for Concord. 

Springport 72, Bronson 28: Ryann Locke won the high jump (4-4) and the 800-meter run (3:07) for the Spartans. Springport won both contested relays, the 400-meter (58.4) and the 800-meter (2:10). 

Girls soccer

Michigan Center 9, Hanover-Horton 1: Julia Reynolds scored five goals and Cecelia Scaife had a goal and four assists for the Cardinals. Maria Aloisio also had two goals and an assist and Natalie Smith recorded her second in goal for Michigan Center (4-5-2). 

Northwest 1, Coldwater 0: The lone Northwest goal was scored by Kenzie Noon, assisted by Piper Darrow. The Mounties’ defense held Coldwater to just two shots on net , both stopped by goalie Skylar Tucker.

Clinton 9, Columbia Central 1: Jaden Bates scored the lone goal for Columbia Central (7-3-2). 

Springport 4, Quincy 0

Hastings 2, Western 1 

Manchester 8, Jackson Christian 0

Marshall 4, Lumen Christi 1

Boys golf

LCAA at Hudson: Columbia Central finished sixth at Evergreen Golf Course finishing with 195. Daniel Pero shot a 44 to lead the Golden Eagles. 

East Jackson Invitational: Northwest scored its best 18-hole invitational score of the season with a 329 to finish second at the East Jackson Invitational at Calderone Golf Club. Lumen Christi finished fourth (335), Hanover-Horton was seventh (353), Western finished ninth (361), Michigan Center placed 12th (372), Napoleon was 13th (379), Grass Lake finished 15th (402), and Jackson Christian placed 16th (403). Isaac Anuszkiewicz earned medalist honors for the Mounties with a 73, Ben Maino of East Jackson was second scoring 75, and Ryan Stevens of Northwest made the top 10 with an 80.
