Baseball

Concord 4, Grass Lake 3: The Yellow Jackets scored all four runs in the last two innings of the game. Two runs scored on a fielder’s choice by Dustin Hamilton. Jacob Collins finished with three hits for Grass Lake in the contest. 

Grass Lake 3, Concord 0: Antoni Malinowski threw a complete game for the Warriors with five strikeouts. Brayden Lape and Avin Sandoval each recorded two hits for Grass Lake. Levi Raymond and Logan Lamb each had a pair of hits for Concord. 

East Jackson 7, Litchfield 2: Bryce Fowler finished with three RBIs and Amarr Hunter collected two hits for the Trojans. 

East Jackson 15, Litchfield 0: East Jackson closed out the game with five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Bryce Fowler finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs in the contest. 

 

Hanover-Horton 3, Hudson 0: Luke Soper and Braylon Sayles combined for a two-hitter against Hudson. Sayles and Coper did it at the plate with two hits apiece for Hanover-Horton.  

Hudson 9, Hanover-Horton 3 : Jack Wooster finished with a pair of hits for the Comets. 

Whitmore Lake 13, Springport 3: Travis Riehle had the only hit for the Spartans in the home loss. 

Whitmore Lake 8, Springport 6 (9 innings): Whitmore Lake scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning to pull out the win. Travis Riehle finished with two runs batted in and Talan Collier and Marshal Shoemaker each finished with a pair of hits for the Spartans. 

Marshall 10, Western 2: The Panthers tallied six hits in the loss to Marshall.

Western 3, Marshall 2: Ben Parrott nearly went the distance on the mound for Western .

Softball

Michigan Center 7, East Jackson 6: Eli Noll and Riley Brown each finished with one hit and two RBIs for the Cardinals. Kilah Boatright and Emily Uyttenhove each finished with a pair of hits for East Jackson.

Michigan Center 20, East Jackson 5: Krista Collins finished with four hits and Hannah McKee knocked in four runs for Michigan Center. Aubree Bell had two hits and knocked in two runs and  Kilah Boatright finished with two hits and an RBI for the Lady Trojans. 

Grass Lake 10, Williamston 0: Emily Brown hit a home run and Bree Salts knocked in four runs for Grass Lake. Laney Brown pitched a one-hitter for the Warriors with nine strikeouts. 

Grass Lake 15, Williamston 0: Rylie Fitzpatrick, Bree Salts, and Olivia Turner hit home runs for the Warriors in the win. Fitzpatrick finished with two dingers and knocked in four runs. 

Springport 15, Whitmore Lake 0: Rachel Potter hit two home runs and Brenna Crittenden hit another for the Spartans. Kelsey Speer threw a one-hitter for Springport with five strikeouts.

Springport 17, Whitmore Lake 2: Saige Patterson finished with three RBIs for Springport in the non-conference win. 

Concord 6, Bellevue 4: Hannah Stimer finished with one hit and an RBI for Concord. 

Concord 15, Bellevue 8: Zoe Schultz and Linda Hernandez each finished with three hits for the Yellow Jackets. 

Girls track and field

Jackson at Ypsilanti Lincoln: Jackson High School won the 1,600-meter relay in 5:02.  

Boys track and field

Jackson at Ypsilanti Lincoln: Jackson won the SMR 1,600-meter relay in 4:25. 

Girls District Soccer

D-2 District Western 3, Tecumseh 1: The Panthers will face Jackson next Tuesday at Adrian High School in the Division 2 District semifinal. 

D-3 District Quincy 7, Springport 3: Quincy High School advances to face Michigan Center in the D-3 District semifinal next Wednesday at Columbia Central High School beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Boys golf

Cascades Conference Final: Hanover-Horton High School won the Cascades Conference final and the conference championship with a four-man total of 321 at Sharp Park Golf Course Thursday. Grass Lake was second (355), Michigan Center placed third (358), Napoleon was fourth (363), Manchester shot 379, Addison finished at 404, and East Jackson was seventh at 408. Brady Applegate of Hanover-Horton won medalist honors with a 74, teammates Hoyt Wrona shot 81, and Ryder Pickering carded an 82. Brody Shannon of Michigan Center finished fourth (83), Travis Drennan of Hanover-Horton was fifth (84), Ryan Lyson of Grass Lake and Jacob Beer of Napoleon tied for sixth with 85s. 

Western at Lansing Christian: Western High School finished tied for seventh with 357 at Hawk Hollow Golf Course. Eric Bonser led Western with an 87 and Hayden Kim and Eli Herrington shot 89s.
