Volleyball

Lumen Christi 3, Grass Lake 1: The two teams split the first two games and Lumen Christi Catholic High School won 25-21 and 27-25 in games three and four. Olivia Turner recorded 12 kills, Mia Buttigieg tallied 36 assists and Abby Buttigieg finished with 17 digs for Grass Lake. 

Boys soccer

Hillsdale 1, Columbia Central 1: Columbia Central High School celebrated senior night with a tie against Hillsdale. 

Jackson 3, Ypsilanti 3: Drew Hesslau, Jacob Chirackal, and Drew Pritchard scored goals for the Vikings. 

Jackson Christian 2, Michigan Center 0:  Jonathan Locke scored a goal for the Royals in the first half and Jackson Christian scored on a penalty kick in the second half. Hunter Clemons had eight saves for Michigan Center in the contest. 

Girls golf

D-4 Golf Regional at Lenawee Hills – Lenawee Christian High School won the regional with a score of 363, Columbia Central was second with 402, and Clinton placed third at 449. The top three teams and top three individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the D-4 Oct. 14, 15. Grass Lake finished fourth (478), Hanover-Horton placed fifth (494), and Michigan Center was sixth (497). Three Jackson County golfers were the state individual qualifiers as Hannah Stimer of Concord shot a 99, Kylie McKee of Michigan Center also shot a 99, and Drew Swihart of Hanover-Horton shot a 104. 

Boys tennis

Jackson 6, Columbia Central 2: Ty Northrup and Tobin Warren won singles matches at Nos. 3 and 4 for Jackson.  Daniel Pero and Dimitri Panergo won singles matches at Nos. 1 and 2 for CCHS. The Vikings swept the doubles competitions. Benjamin Nichols/Grayson Deane won in three sets for Jackson at No. 1 doubles; Theodor Sykes/Joey Ortiz swept their match at No. 2 doubles; Rowan Alger/Peter Sykes earned a 6-3 and 6-4 in at No. 3 doubles; and Christopher Day/Shritan Pisupati won at No. 4 doubles for the Vikings.
